To put it simply, I love to write, although it's difficult to put my finger on why. Writing can be unpredictable - sometimes you end up with a novel, while other times your efforts aren't as successful. Despite the nature of writing, it's my love for it that continues to motivate me. Sometimes I write often, other times rarely, and I do it when I'm sad and when I'm happy, when I do not mean anything or when I want to say everything. I love to inspire people with the hope that what I write resonates with them, that it is clear and honest and meaningful. To me, writing is an outlet for so many different emotions , a means to a end - it's my flag on the golf course, an angry boxer's punching bag, giddily singing along to your favorite song or seeing the face of the person you love. It is peace and anger, silence and noise, whispers and caresses. It is ringing the wrong bell and yet happening to meet the right person. Writing is leaping from a bridge held only by a thread, a nap between cool sheets on a summer afternoon. It can be a break down, a deep cry. It's a swim in a lake, a night of shooting stars, the clamor of thoughts. Writing is dreaming with your eyes open when dreams do not exist anymore. It's knowing where to go and with whom, what to want. It's being fearless in taking risks, or the eyes of a child when they first feel the stark cold of winter. It's asking yet not always having the right answer. It's never ceasing, even when the ink runs dry. It's commas, and dots, letters and words, a blank slate on which to write, and write, and write again exactly what you want to express. It's playfulness, imagination ... lost in all that is art and dreams. My favorite quote? "Per aspera ad astra." My favorite genre? Urban fantasy and paranormal romance. For me, imagination is the principal source of human happiness - Keats was right when he said "The imagination is like the dream of Adam: Adam awoke, and found that it was truth." An epic story isn't always so far away from everyday life, and fiction can come close to reality. The secret to my creativity?
