The book consists of three sections; Scales, Chords and Exercises The Scale section shows how to use the Major Scale to learn music theory in terms of the guitar fretboard. Scales covered include all the Modes of the Major Scale, as well as the Harmonic Minor, Diminished, Whole Tone, Augmented and Melodic Minor scales. The section concludes with a Scale Use Summary listing the various chords and the scales that can be used to solo over them The Chord Section contains sections on Diminished and Augmented chords, Blues and ii V I progressions, the Cycle of 4ths, a practice routine for jazz songs, guidelines for creating Chord Melodies, root position chords in the Major, Minor and Dominant families and triad and extended chord inversions. 5.0 su 5 stelle Great theory book for guitar players 12 gennaio 2013

I have struggled in the past with learning theory due to being a guitar player rather than a piano player. I'm just now starting the book but already have learned more ways to apply theory to the guitar than from two semesters of music theory at a community college. Definitely recommend this book to others.

This book has everything to make everything make sense, and gives a clear roadmap to the elusive sea of music. Make sense of the music you've been playing and be able to predict likely chord changes to any song!
