Death Wears Stilettos (Reapers in Heels #2) [Formato Kindle]

This is the first novel I have read by Jason Krumbine and the second in the Reapers in Heels series. I did not read the first novel.

The Graves sisters, Avery and Brooke, don't have an everyday mundane job. They are Reapers and it is up to them to chase down wayward souls who have refused or somehow failed to go to the afterlife. Sometimes lost souls have to be caught and not all make it easy.

The ladies are up to the top of their heels in unwilling souls. The young school teacher and her aspiring author husband have gone off the radar. Chasing them down is becoming more time consuming than expected. The businessman who has convinced the sisters to find his estranged daughter so he can be sure she receives her inheritance is giving them trouble. He won't stay where he is supposed to be.

To top it off a new reaper business has come to Century City. One that has a reputation of pushing the independents out and taking over. Avery and Brooke find themselves being recruited. But are they ready to give up their small but thriving business to join a larger corporation?

As the ladies guide or force these lost souls into the afterlife they have plenty of complications in the here and now. As sisters and business partners they are as different as night and day. One efficient and focused and one whose attention span is limited by her own self centeredness. Avery, with her doctor boyfriend, is not sure she is going forward in a way she hopes. Brooke, unable to sustain a relationship is going nowhere fast. But somehow the two sisters both complement and complete each other.

The storyline was interesting, the characters unique and the dialogue both snappy and crisp. Well written and well told the story keeps interest while it encourages the reader to turn the pages quickly and find out what will happen next.

We recommend this for 18+ due to themes and adult romantic situations.

Parents' Little Black Book

Avery and Brooke are back and ready to cuff and ship the dead souls off to eternity in this second installment of Reapers in Heels. They are the sexiest and sassiest reapers in Century City. I can't get enough of these two. Love the dialogue, the quirky characters. It is like a grown-up comic book where the pictures develop in my mind--Krumbine makes it easy to paint those mind pictures with his story. Another fun read!

I haven't read this book but i'm going to go out on a limb and say its a re-write of "the dead couple(a gyrm brothers novel)", not that I mind but it would be nice to know that its not worth the $5 to read a slightly different version of a book I've already bought (and enjoyed immensely) like I did with One Stiletto in the Grave (Reapers in Heels).

ok for you trolls that liked to point out that I shouldn't review a book I haven't read, well, now I have and aside from some small gender changes and a better ending to a minor bit of the end of the book it is "the dead couple" so I stand by my review.

Anyone who bought the gyrm brothers books souldn't pay for these books till he puts out new, stories anyone who hasn't, they are good just becareful not to pay for 2 copies of what amounts to the same books.

p.s Mr Krumbine re-writing doesn't imply plagurisum, Harry Harrison did it when he did the death world series years ago.
p.p.s When did Brooke become a reaper, I thought she wasn't lisenced just like Mort?
