Great news! Poor eyesight is not the inevitable result of aging. In her book, "Envision Better Eyesight", author Rebecca Gurland provides easy to understand explanations on how to achieve better vision. Implementing the work of Dr. William Bates, in his study of improving vision care, Better Eyesight Without Eyeglasses, Rebecca reveals that nutrition, exercise, stress release and basic eye relaxation techniques can actually improve our eyesight. Her message is to relax the eye and stop straining and squinting. The book comes with handy eye charts and procedures to start you on your way to seeing better. I found the charts and reference section to be very informative. I have purchased the pinhole glasses that are highlighted in the book and am seeing amazing results. By using these glasses everyday for about ten minutes I now can read print on the computer screen more clearly, as well as read street signs more easily.
The benefit to incorporating these simple vision habits into your life is enormous. And for us baby boomers, being able to read the fine print really comes in handy. I encourage everyone to pick up this eye-opening book (pun intended), and read how easy it is to improve you and your family's life with better eyesight.
