I came to Facebook reluctantly as a mid-life professional. I have a different standard of privacy, it seems, that many of my younger colleagues. Nevertheless, I realized the powerful potential of reaching close to 1 billion active users, in terms of my business. Although I had been an IT professional in the past, I found many of Facebook's idiosyncracies the opposite of user-friendly or intuitive, and the documentation provided on Facebook is sparse and confusing at best. I decided I needed "Facebook for Dummies". However, I was very disappointed. I found it very poorly written, and it did not address the really core questions I had, like, "what is the difference between my wall and my news feed". Some of the information is there, but organized poorly and hard to access. Doing a Google search I found some free resources that did a great job of teasing these issues out and making them clear: and they're free. For example, I found one that was written for real estate professionals that taught me more in five minutes than reading this entire book. I would say don't waste your money. Check out third-party documentation written for professionals, and forget this book.
