Through her twenty-five-year career as a government worker in the field of Human Services, Kay Caputi has crossed paths with people from many walks of life. Her primary goal has been to "walk a mile in the shoes," of those she has served. These rich yet sometimes heartbreaking encounters have given her sensitivity regarding the lives of other people. From these experiences, she receives her ability to create visual imagery and to paint portraits of characters for plays, short stories, and poems. An award winning actor/director/playwright, Kay retired from moonlighting jobs in regional theatre in 2004. Needing a creative outlet, she returned to the poetry she loved as a young girl for a cathartic, creative pastime. Her work can be found in various publications ranging from magazines and journals to respectable e-zines. Some of her work is based on experience. Much is a product of her over-active imagination. It is up to the reader to decide if she writes truth or fiction.
