"Julian is an active 79 year old professional forester who is still physically fit and mentally alert. He is a 1958 forestry graduate of Purdue University, veteran of the Korean War, father of four, grandfather of six, great-grandfather of one and a recent widower after fifty-one years of married life. Hutchinson has served as a forester for the State of Wisconsin and as the "Chief, Natural Resource Management Division" at Fort Mc Coy, a 60,000 U.S. Army Installation. After retirement in 1990, he formed his own consulting firm, Hutchinson Resource Management. Another path of life traveled by Julian was in the realm of live theater. For 35 years he has contributed to over an estimated one hundred theater stage productions as director, producer, publicist, set builder and back stage worker. In September 1990, he co-authored a research study, N-90/XX for USACERL. His most recent article, "Fixing a Biological Desert", was printed last August in Forest Wisdom, the quarterly publication of The Forest Guild, a national organization. Hack is his first novel."
