EDIT: Due to A+ personal customer service by Rick, this review has has its rating bumped up a star, since my misprint has since been replaced by the improved copy. I feel that this new rating now represents not only the product, but the man backing it up.
[The review below is no longer relevant to the versions currently being sold]
I'm not going to go into the quality of the comic itself, as most buyers of this wonderful web-turned-paper comic should already know what they are getting themselves into.
I purchased the first run of prints, before the book was taken out of production temporarily and then put back up. The reason for this was due to a few errors.
The first: color. When examining the color, it is noticeably darker and less accurate to the online version, even when compared to the first book, which is closer to the originals. This threw me off, initially, but doesn't actually impair ones ability to enjoy the comic. It's just a touch of inconsistency between Book 1 and Book 2, is all.
The second, and more important: A missing strip. Now, this normally wouldn't matter a whole lot if it was a one-off strip, but the missing strip was from an actual arc. Not just any arc, either; it was a critical moment during the establishment of, who many consider to be their favorite character, everyone's favorite Welsh Corgi, angsty and short: King.
These issues in the initial run, to the extent of my knowledge, have been fixed in the current run of prints. The text on the prose All the King's Men has been downsized to reduce the amount of pages, as well. While the current run most likely deserves the five-star reviews, I can't help but think of the initial buyers who received a bit less than they expected.
EDIT: As it turns out, Rick Griffin is now offering to replace the 25 or so copies that were sold before the fix. Check out housepetscomic.com for more info if you are one of the few that purchased the first run.
