This book is fiction, around 110 pages, there are no page numbers, but numerous chapters. The story has just about a little bit of something for everyone, with many different characters from young to old. The story has an element of the benefits of teamwork in it, and a reocurring theme of "man versus nature". It is not clear in this book how the characters came about in the current situation, that could be presented in another book (I would be interested in reading that), and the ending leaves open the possibility of another book, or another forty books, which I personnaly would not be so interested in reading. The main character is a girl, and the book in general could fall into the category of "young adult fiction". The story does not contain anything that would be too intense for young readers, but the story has an occasional serious element to allow the characters to be presented in a world that is not perfect. I recommend this book.
