After recently getting notification from my doctor that my liver was not performing as it should I picked this book up to find ways of helping me clear my liver problems without the need for medication. I was really pleased that I did. This book has absolutely no fluff, no filler material at all. It explains clearly and simply what you need to do to improve liver function and then, (which I thought was really really helpful) it provides fruit and vegetable combinations for juices and some recipes (including main meals) that you can use so that you are eating foods which truly help with liver function. The other thing I found helpful in the supplements sections was the information on why the various supplements help your liver. If you are looking for check list type information, in well laid out step-by-step instructions about liver health then reading this book is a good idea. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars was because I personally like a bit of filler in my books and would have liked to have seen additional information provided about the symptoms of liver problems. But that is just my personal preference. If you have been told by your doctor that you have liver problems this book will genuinely help you to make changes to your diet and lifestyle to help correct that problem naturally.

Without a doubt, the liver is clearly one of the most important organs inside the body. The abuse it takes from us as we abuse our systems is astounding, but once we've ruined this organ there is no turning back. This book jumps right into the foods we can enjoy in abundance, while highlighting those foods that should be avoided at all costs (I must admit, most of these occur naturally in my current diet). This is a comprehensive list, with recipes to match, and this is clearly a book that will be on my Kindle shelf for years to come...!

I just finished reading the book and have to say that I really enjoyed it. It is informative, concise and well formatted. It offers cleansers and detox recipes that you can make easily at home. There is a list of foods to avoid and a list to indulge in. There are many excellent recipes that just scream 'healthy' at you. The only thing that contradicted a bit was that it mentions to avoid dairy, but then uses dairy in some of the recipes.. but I am guessing that they mean to avoid 'excessive' dairy intake.
All in all, when I finished the book I felt that I had learned something useful. I definitely recommend this book. Thank you.
