Descrizione prodotto

'Never Push and Never Pull' is a short-story based on my experiences as a special education teacher. Some of the events in this book actually happened. Some are the product of my imagination. I have created my fictional class based on the many students I taught over thirty-five years of teaching. 'Never Push and Never Pull' will have you laughing and crying as you enjoy the successes and challenges of this delightful class. My hope is to raise awareness of the special needs and gifts of children with autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and a variety of challenges. Parents and teachers alike will gain insight into teaching techniques and acceptance.

Cindy Stringer Wismer is a retired special educator and author. You may visit her at Amazon's Author Central or on Facebook at Never Push and Never Pull.....a short story.

5.0 su 5 stelle Story of special education students in most categories through 35 years of changes. 27 dicembre 2013

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have now read it twice. It is just an honest, from the heart book..The author tells the changes of special education in 35 years. It begins with students staying at home to students and parents having mandatory rights and laws.
The pendulum continues to swing in this area of special education. A great read, don't miss it.
5.0 su 5 stelle VERY realistic fiction 10 agosto 2014

This book is SO real that I had to keep reminding myself that it's fiction! The compiled characters are so real that I've known kids just like them. The truisms of special ed are all over this one, including the last line--"No one was lost, hurt or crying-a good time was had by all." (location 463). How true! This is a realistic look inside of a more severe disabilities classroom (with loads of behaviors) with a terrific teacher; not every teacher is cut out for such a classroom.

Absolutely beautiful story. I loved it! I would've paid for this one for sure and recommend it to anyone. I don't have nor do I want children but her story still made me cry (happy tears) at the end. Life is good indeed when your plate is full.

I would recommend this to everyone. Those people that learn differently and the people who love them will be enlightened and entertained. It is great for both regular and special educators as it has some great tools for teaching children to succeed. Anyone that loves children will find this delightful and triumphant.

Having worked in special ed for years myself- reading this story reminded me of all the good times and positive experiences I had with those special children.
