3 marzo 2013 The Secret Series
In her newest novel, Secret Agendas, South Carolinian author, Debbie Brownfield, brings the very real problem of human trafficking to the shores of Charleston, South Carolina. When Uncle Craig rescues 9 terrified Latina girls who have been kidnapped from Mexico, drugged, and sent via ship to be distributed as human slaves across the United States, it begins a riveting, action-packed rescue of seven families from the clutches of another form of terrorism. Blake Lobel, bounty hunter, is not satisfied, however, with just the rescue of these families. He wants to bring down the head honcho of the organization, and Tallie Peters-Templeton is just the girl to help him. But that is not all that is happening. The Merrill family farm is caught in the crosshairs of a struggle between Constitutional property rights and the passage of a Rebeautification Ordinance in their county. Gina Galbraith can’t understand why Jasper Peters-Templeton is taking the court case so personally. But Jasper’s own personal agenda is to convince Gina that she’s engaged to marry the wrong man! Follow the continuing saga of the Merrill and Peters-Templeton families in this spell-binding novel that celebrates family and freedom in 21st century America! Debbie G. Brownfield is so passionate in this fight against human trafficking that she has decided to donate $3 from the purchase of each book to “Doors to Freedom” and “The A21 Campaign,” ministries that actively aid victims of trafficking. She encourages you to join her!

This book as Debbie's 2nd on the market is very well written and captured my attention from the beginning.
Great for those who enjoy suspense with romance and dealing with major issues of our day.
Loved it!

I was disappointed that human trafficing became a minor plot with Agenda 21 taking over the book starting with the first paragraph. The writing was very discriptive to the point of distraction. I would not recommend it.
1.0 su 5 stelle May Be One of the Worst Books that I Ever Finished Reading 12 agosto 2013

I do not think this book had an editor, or if it did, he/she should be fired! The sentence structure was awkward in many places. Sentence fragments popped up inexplicibly. Punctuation was incorrect or non-existent. Some sentences did not have verbs. The characters were cardboard and predictable, or worse, their behavior was totally out of character. The dialogue was ridiculous. Twenty-somethings do not say, that "sustance is needed." Too much attention was paid to the color of the drapes and not enough to the emotions of the characters. If the agenda of the author was bringing human trafficking to the forefront, it failed miserably. A scene where a small child is murdered should have evoked extreme emotions from the other characters. They barely reacted. It was a story about a group of families, so many families, that 6 family trees were listed at the start of the book, 6! If I could have given this book a half star instead of a full star, I would have. What a total, waste of time.
