Stick Man. Book & CD [Brossura]

This lovely story by acclaimed childrens' story writer Julia Donaldson is really delightful. Furthermore the cd included entertains my 2 year old toddler both in the car and at bedtime. The story is told by Imelda Staunton in a clear and engaging way (British English pronunciation). The story is told twice with different sound effects and there is both a vocal and instrumental version of the "Stickman song" as well as a question and answer game on the events of the story to challenge older children. I think this book is an excellent resource for Italian parents trying to bring up their children with a second language as the story read on cd can help non native adult readers to pronounce the words correctly before they read the story to their children themselves. This goes also for older school children learning English as a second or foreign language. Furthermore the rhyming pattern encourages vocabulary acquisition in an effortless and enjoyable way. Considering the contents I would recommend this book for Christmas time.

Questa simpatica storia scritta da Julia Donaldson, acclamata scrittrice per bambini, è veramente una delizia! Include un cd che intrattiene il mio bambino sia durante i viaggi in auto che prima della nanna. La storia è raccontata da Imelda Stauton in modo chiaro e coinvolgente (la pronuncia è British English). La storia viene letta due volte con diversi effetti sonori, ci sono inoltre una versione cantata ed una strumentale della canzone "Stickman song" e una attività di "domanda e risposta" sugli eventi della storia per sfidare i bambini un po' più grandicelli. Trovo che questo libro sia una risorsa molto utile per i genitori che vogliono introdurre i loro figli all'inglese come lingua straniera in quanto il fatto che la storia sia letta da una voce madrelingua aiuta il genitore non madrelingua ad imparare la corretta pronuncia delle parole prima di accingersi a leggere la storia al loro bambino. La stessa cosa vale per i bambini in età scolare che stanno imparando la lingua Inglese come lingua seconda o straniera. Inoltre la rima incoraggia l'acquisizione di vocaboli senza sforzo e in modo divertente. Considerati i contenuti lo raccomanderei per il periodo natalizio.

Questa è una storia stupenda anche da leggere + e + volte ai bambini. Ci sono parecchi termini interessanti da imparare e la storia è magnifica. Il cd allegato contiene 5 brani di cui forse solo il terzo è interessante, ma si può farne veramente a meno, però la storia con le sue immagini vale proprio la pena per il prezzo basso che poi costa. Può essere sempre regalato/tramandato di figlio in figlio.
