Sinossi

BOOK TWO in the Loon Lake Series

From cool April rains in Minnesota to the warm fall harvest in Napa Valley, SUMMER OF DRAGONFLY CHANGES will take you on a journey of friendship, family and love.

Overview:
Imagine a second chance at something you really care about and taking that chance because you have to.

In SUMMER OF DRAGONFLY CHANGES, Samantha McGreggor returns to Loon Lake and finds herself back in Jake Hunter’s life and up to her ears in family drama - again. Only this summer, it’s not just her family drama.

Jake’s sister Dana is devastated by a divorce she never saw coming. Can Sammy and Jake help her mend her broken heart?

Jake’s cousin Vince is losing his mother to cancer. Can Sammy and Jake keep him from losing his joie de vivre?

As Sammy knows, the adult dragonfly only has a few months to fly and live - making it a symbol for living in the moment.

Will Sammy take a lesson from the dragonfly this summer and live her life to the fullest?

It’s been a long, hard year and it’s time for a SUMMER OF DRAGONFLY CHANGES.

5.0 su 5 stelle Great Book 16 luglio 2013

I bought this book because it was a sequel to Summer of Firefly Memories in the Loon Lake Series. I love it! It picked up right where the first book left off and I just couldn't put it down. I had to keep reading to see what happened next and by this time I felt like I knew each character personally and I knew what I wanted to happen to each. When the book was finished I felt bad because it was finished. I actually felt like I had lost some friends.

5.0 su 5 stelle Great Summer Read! 15 luglio 2013

I really enjoy Sammy & her family. I love that her family & their experiences are so true to life even though some of the trips are a little over the top for some of us everyday people but that's the fun of reading, being taken away to a new place. I can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

Enjoyable, fun, exciting, sad, leaves you wanting more. This one ended way too soon for me. Impatiently waiting for more.

Just as fairies are whimsical, dragonflies have a magical movement about them. I think from now on, anytime I see one, I will think it is my dad, whom I never got to know. Maybe one day, as I sit in my garden remembering my mom, and I ask her how she likes my garden, two dragonflies will come to me, and I'll know that my parents are together again, as they should be.

2.0 su 5 stelle A poor follow-up 25 luglio 2013
Di K. Freeman - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I read the first book in the series and thought it was decent. Maybe a bit sappy, certainly with some questionable language and dialogue (in the sense that it's often very dated and sometimes over-the-top), but decent enough that I wanted to see what happened next. So I bought this one.

Unfortunately, this one was not a good follow-up. We barely hear about two of the sisters. Sammy, rather than being her own person and going through her own changes, is merely a fairy godmother/wise granny-type to a handful of other characters. This felt like treading water, waiting for things to happen. Not impressive at all.

The book also had a number of problems with homophones and words that just didn't seem to make sense in context, like the author or editor wasn't sure what they meant but thought they sounded good. And there were tons of unnecessary paragraph breaks. It really interrupted the flow of the book and often caused confusion over who said what.

If there are subsequent books, which I'm guessing there will be after the clunky stopping point, I won't be reading them.
