Sweet Romance With A Touch of Suspense
Robyn is on the way to visit friends with an abusive boyfriend. When they stop at at picturesque lookout he mentions marriage and she tells him gently she doesn't see a future for them. Some men don't take rejection well. He handles it by shoving her off a cliff and leaving her for dead.
But she won't die. She crawls on hands and knees until she almost passes out. But before she does she ties her silk scarf to the collar of a dog. The dog drives his owner crazy until the owner finally realizes why he's going nuts. He helps Robyn into his house and warms her up.
He's there to clear out his dead son's things and get the house ready for market. But with Robyn there he begins to realize the many memories the property has. He's grown up here and was happy for years. But his ex-wife disliked it, even when he built her a new house. When their son, a toddler, died in a tragic accident, she left him and moved back to NY city.
As he helps Robyn heal and takes her to meet the friends she was coming to visit he, too, is healing. Her friends are friends he grew up with. They convince Robyn to report her ex's assault so that he's unable to do such a thing to another woman. A romance develops and Dan begins to realize he doesn't want to let the house go, as he remembers all the good memories of his son and family.
A story of love, loss and redemption with a touch of suspense with justice found, this is a story that will bring a lump to your throat and leave you smiling.
