I've never read such specific information on each of the Omega 3s and Omega 6s. I knew that consuming each of the Omega 3 oils was important, (which the book confirms) but I thought all types of Omega 6 needed to be decreased in the diet. The book explains that it's the Omega 6 oil, Linolaic Acid (LA), that we all get too much of. However, the Omega 6 oil, Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), is essential to promote health in many ways. Decreasing inflammation is so important and I'm glad that the author shares with us the science to back up why this is true (and he provides practical steps on how you can decrease inflammation through diet and exercise). We've all heard the BUZZ about how polyphenols are anti-aging - now we can see the research and know that it's worth it to start consuming more polyphenols through whole foods and supplementation.
