This nice DVD transfer is the same as available from Universal/ Studio Canal in Japan, Spain and Holland (Netherlands). But that means that no matter which of those countries that you buy it from, it will not play without foreign sub-titles. We can choose WHICH sub-titles we want but we cannot choose to TURN THEM OFF! How stupid. Luckily I have the original, long deleted UK DVD by 2entertain.However there is one solution- if you're using a DVD player which has the option to play the film in 14:9 ratio (so that the picture doesn't fill the LCD or plasma screen but has the black lines around it so that all of the picture is shown), do that. Why? Because on 14:9 the sub-titles at the foot of the picture are nearly cut out, you can only see a fraction of them (as long as you have a LCD or plasma tv) so they will be less distracting!
