I feel like I live an enchanted life. This is all the more reason that I don't discount my occurrences in this fast paced world and I now, more than ever, frequently journal my points and dreams as I go through life. Here are some of my thoughts with respect to this publication (by the way, there is no spoiler alert ringing. I will la la la and cover my ears in conversations about a book or movie that I aim to see anyway, so as to have a virgin experience, The purist needn't fear).
"We'll always have Linsanity." Case in point, 5 to be exact. 1.) I was in a Bakery (Sybil's) in Queens N.Y. on 3/31/13, Easter Sunday. 2.) I had just been reading the 1st Kurylo chapter aloud to my friend who was driving with the radio off. 3.) I snapped a picture of the N.Y. Knicks Jacket in front of me. 4.) Random guy was laughing with his girlfriend about 'The eye of the tiger' song playing but I thought it was all about me. So I explained the Knicks jacket picture I took, knickerbologger.net and 'We'll always have Linsanity' to them. 5.) Other random guy, Brandon Baksh, hears me and says 'I just read that book.' Check & Mate! Talk about your early adopters, the book had only been on the market for a few weeks. Then we had the real photo shoot, Of Course. This is not just a coincidence, You should read it too." - Terrence Wilburg
"Love this book just started reading it and it makes me lean forward in my train seat among other places, to pay attention." -Terrence Wilburg
"Years ago, my friend started reading a book to me out loud to make me psyched to read it. I remember it clearly. He soapboxed from the hall to the elevator and downstairs to the Sunshine day. Today, I'm your Todd Voyager Israel. Read "We'll Always Have Linsanity" Your eyes will thank you." - Terrence Wilburg
"Even Barack Obama couldn't dodge Jeremy Lin. Truth Speaks Volumes, ball don't lie and neither do I. 99 pages that Rock!" - Terrence Wilburg
"In the first few pages of the book: 'We'll Always have Lansinity,' lives a section called 'Dramatis Personae,' a comedic and honest take of some ball players, roll call wise, from the 2011-12 season roster. If I were to sit on a similar list, I could visualize the text mentioning that 'Though he has a gangly unrefined presence on the pine top with mediocre point accumulation, he does have a surprisingly unorthodox hook shot that falls a little too often to be luck.' Besides the weight loss benefit, those were my Jeremy Lin type moments that always kept me coming back for more. How would you, in comedic but honest fashion, reference your style of play? And does it have to be the shoes?" - Terrence Wilburg
Zombies and Pringles and Money, Oh My!!! Stay tuned KNYC Knack Paddy wackers. For anyone who'll hear it, there is much more related verbosity to come at another time and place because in my wheelhouse is a constant reflective on the Serendipity of quote, Coincidence, unquote, but, In February I was writing a pitch for a show (no less than 20 pages fine print). One sentence in that document references both KNICKERBLOGGER.NET and LINSANITY [For the nerdvana Investigative birth behind this, one could start with the "David Lauren, Lauren Bush, Ralph Lauren Coincidence" in the photo section of my Facebook page]. On 3/29/13 I was gifted "We'll Always have Linsanity," a book I knew nothing about or that it would exist (I went on to purchase the digital copy as well). Two days later I mention the book in mixed company and (as quoted above) Brandon, from my parent's country, pipes up that he has already read the book and compound significance keeps rearing its interesting head.
We see, write, hear or experience something apparently commonplace in our lives and they come back later to vie for importance. Slow down and pay attention to the curious yet miraculous events that happen around you, it will make your life more interesting. I think the charmed effect of Linsanity on the tall backs of the 'NYC Knicks of the Red Delicious'* is a great place to start (*copyright 2013).
