"The World of Prayer" is the best resource I know for using at an inter-faith gathering, an increasing number of which are now happening across the world.Rosalind Bradley has collected the favourite prayers of well known spiritual leaders, activists and humanitarians from within all faiths as well as from writers, scholars, journalists, artists and musicians across the world. We not only learn something of the person who chose the prayer, but we have the benefit of some wonderful prayer resources, as well as explanatory words from each person whose selection is included. In our Women's Interfaith Network meetings in Sydney we are now able to have an actual prayer in addition to the minute of silence which has been our custom until now. I love Nelson Mandela's chosen poem (by Willliam Ernest Henley) which includes the words
"and yet the menace of the years
finds, and shall find me,unafraid".
