This study provides a crucial analysis of how poverty-stricken, idle, frustrated young people in sub-Saharan Africa prefer to be empowered in order to harvest their potential and channel Africa into economic independence. This meticulously designed Q methodology study incorporated both quantitative and qualitative research strategies to achieve the remarkable goals of listening to youths' voices, experiences and concerns, and of analyzing their subjective contributions to reveal six perspectives that were in existence among the sampled population. Importantly, this study not only identified weakness that hinders the Kenya government from empowering the youth, it suggested alternatives that policy formulators can incorporate to attend to youth efficiently. Undoubtedly, this book offers a much needed road-map on how Africa's most abundant resource can be fully incorporated in the economic wellbeing of their nations.

Ground breaking work on how to understand and approach Youth Empowerment in Sub Saharan Africa. An insightful, thoughtful way to collect and analysis ideas from the largest population group in Africa - the Youth, (leaders of tomorrow). Just like it is in all cultures and in all continents, the youth are the energy to any movement; however they rarely get the fruits of the movement. This book is a tool to finding out what they would like to see happen, a chance in giving insight to what policies would help them and what kind of help they would like to lead them to a better quality and standard of living. This book is a must read when planning policies to empower the youth.

Undoubtedly a well written and well researched book. This is probably the only book of its kind to really give the African youth a voice on how to empower them. A must read for those serious in creating a sustainable environment where the youth can thrive and be productive members of society. The book is a reminder of the true value of youth participation in matters that will affect them and future generations.
