Zammatra is a fast paced adventure novel, which pits two sisters against one another, set against a backdrop of international terror and intrigue. Raised in separate societies, and indoctrinated to very difference beliefs, one becomes an F.B.I. agent the other becomes a terrorist. Both are bent on their missions - one to destroy lives, the other to save lives - and they soon find themselves pitted against each other in a deadly game. Zammatra is a woman raised by lies and a brutal father. Will she find out the truth in time or is it too late for her to understand the truth? Jessica misses the sister she believes dead. Will she unknowingly destroy her? As a terrorist plot unfolds, both sisters will follow their destiny and choose their path towards a head-on collision. Hero or terrorist, savior or survivor - follow them to a climax that will keep you glued to the pages -- in a brutal race against time.

I was born on October 22,1948. That makes me an old fart.I was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. And yes I can remember when Elvis came on the scene. So, that could make me a cool old fart. I was in the army for five years and spent two years in Viet Nam. I guess that could make me a dangerous old fart. That means the only thing I'm sure of is, I became an old fart. The events of September 11, changed my way of looking at the world forever. Hating terrorist for their acts against humanity is the way we should feel but you can't condemn a nation or religion for the acts of a few. I believe education is the way to peace not war but sometimes we are forced into situations. I believe that even if you're taught lies, the truth will eventually surface and a change for the better will come. We are not at war with a religion or a nation but with cowards that are afraid of change and of the truth and want to remain in control of uneducated minds. In the 1960s it wasn't the violence that brought change in our own country, it was education. As Zammatra says in my book right or wrong has no race, right or wrong has no religion or nationality. Right or wrong are just plain right or wrong. Heros come in all religions, races, nationalities, and sexes and may God walk with ours.

4.0 su 5 stelle Know Thy Enemy... 9 gennaio 2007
Di D. Heise - Pubblicato su
Formato:Copertina flessibile
So, it turns out that America's last line of defense is -- an Iraqi woman?!? Believe it or not, the author makes it much more plausible (and exciting) than it sounds. Welcome to the 21st century folks! Zammatra is a Middle East A** Kicking machine who takes her cues (and her dialogue) from the classics of the action-adventure genre. Imagine Electra as a military brat, and you've got the basic idea. Engaging, fun reading for anyone who likes a good Chuck Norris movie, or who doesn't have the patience to read 900 pages of Tom Clancy and just wants to get to the heart of the action.

Fast-paced, with a number of good (and unexpected) plot twists. The style is more B-Movie than Pulitzer prize winner, but I think that's more of a strength than a weakness. You get plenty of bang for your buck, and the emphasis is on entertainment. Let's face it, that's why we read and watch action/adventure anyway -- to get to the action.

From what I understand, the author is an all-american guy -- Vietnam Vet, truck driver, etc. -- which comes through in his writing. But there are also some really surprising aspects of the book too, that show that his gears are turning at a deeper level.

I won't spoil the plot, but I will say that the writer knows how to get you turning pages and does a good job of catching you off guard. Not for the Oprah crowd, and not likely to change your life, but definitely worth the read!!

I didn't care for this book at all. It was so awful that I didn't finish it. The dialog is what turned me off. The concept was a good one but it needed more work. I always finish books that I buy but this was an exception.

Zammatra was an interesting read with an unusual plot but very poorly edited and I think the author had it privately printed. Could have been alot better without all the typos and run on sentences but I still got through it and enjoyed it to some extent.
