Sinossi

Using stocks and stock options to develop a low-risk, wealth-building strategy for retail investors. Selling puts is a strategy similar to, but not precisely the same as, covered call writing. Mastering either strategy is a huge opportunity for retail investors to secure our financial futures. Mastering both will allow us focus in on the best investment choices depending on market conditions and personal risk tolerance.

About This Book:

The purpose of this book is to give the reader the tools to master a conservative stock and option strategy with the goals of generating monthly cash flow and focusing in on capital preservation. Selling cash-secured puts is a low-risk strategy that leverages high-quality stocks and exchange-traded funds to accomplish these objectives. This book will present basic option principles that apply to this system and will walk you through the process of stock and option selection. Additionally, calculating profits and position management will also be critical topics addressed. In other words, every aspect of this strategy will be discussed including the necessary steps to take before, during and after a trade is executed.

Examples of real-life trade executions will be shown in conjunction with illustrative charts and graphs, and the rationale for each step behind the trade will be explained using easy-to-understand terminology. I will also allude to another similar strategy, covered call writing, the topic of my first three books. The risk-reward profile of the two strategies are similar but certain nuances make them different and I feel it is important to discuss those distinctions as I present the material needed to master this great strategy of selling cash-secured puts. I will not tell you what to do but rather how to do it and why. I want you to benefit from all the mistakes.

5.0 su 5 stelle Will get you from knowing nothing about selling options to running on your own with confidence 6 settembre 2015

I discovered this book after reading Alan Ellman's Complete Encyclopedia for Covered Call Writing. Since the author is utilizing the same analysis for both strategies (covered calls and cash secured puts) large parts of the two books are mostly redundant. I did benefit from reading this material the second time around and in a slightly different focus. The better benefit came from being introduced to this strategy which is complementary to the covered calls strategy I learnt in his other book. All on its own this book is wholesome but all on its own either strategy is not wholesome. You should become familiar with both covered calls and cash secured puts. Very good and thorough presentation in both books. They will get you from knowing nothing about selling options to running on your own with confidence.

3.0 su 5 stelle The other issue is that too me it makes more sense to sell a put after good solid large gap has had a sell off 28 febbraio 2015

The book is decent introduction to selling puts. The issue with the book is that it gets stock ideas from Investors business daily which is rather costly. The alternative is to subscribe to his service. The other issue is that too me it makes
more sense to sell a put after the stock drops and finds support. This way you can buy below an already low price for the stock. If it the stock does get put to you it most likely has no where else to go but up.
Alan advocates looking for stocks in up trends which is the way you want the company to go, but a lot can happen in a month. If you do have the stock put to you, then you most likely you won't get it at a good price. Otherwise this is a desent book

5.0 su 5 stelle Time to get serious. 31 gennaio 2015

Great to the point book. I consider myself a semi-experienced Put seller, but realized after reading this book (what I've really know all along) - I need to be a better informed and better prepared investor. Alan lays out an easy to follow outline of how to become a better Put seller. It was the perfect book for me right now. I want to approach Covered call and Put selling as more than just a hobby interest. I wanted a road map for a more serious/successful approach. This book provides that in an easy well planned format. I look forward to reading his books on Covered call writing!

5.0 su 5 stelle Must have book if interested in selling cash secured puts 2 giugno 2016
Di Anthony F. - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I purchased Mr. Ellman's Selling Cash Secured Puts on Tuesday May 31st and finished reading it on Wednesday June 1st. That's not to say the book doesn't have a lot of information because it is robust. It's just a credit to the quality way Mr. Ellman presents the information in a logical and appealing format that you just want to keep learning more.

Being an engineer I find Mr. Ellman's methodical approach to investing very appealing. He is also concerned with asset preservation which I find valuable. Although I'm new to option trading, I have been investing using mutual funds, etf's and individual stocks for years. I'm leaning towards starting by selling cash secured puts versus writing covered calls because my goal is more towards creating cash flow rather than owning more shares of stock because I already own plenty of shares through working other systems I've developed. I do own two other books by Mr. Ellman namely Cashing in on Covered Calls and his Exit Strategies. Both of those are very good also and I'll be revisiting those because although I'm interested in selling puts, Mr. Elman describes a Put-Call-Put strategy in his book that increases opportunity to make more money should the stock be "put" to you even though ownership was not the intention.

On a final note, I reached out to Mr. Ellman via his Blue Collar Investor website with a question regarding the book. I didn't expect anyone to get back to me for a while. I was shocked that not only someone got back to me within a half hour but it was Mr. Ellman himself! He answered my question and was generous with his time. Needless to say I was so impressed with the book and Mr. Ellman's responsiveness that it prompted me to write this review which I normally don't do.

If you are interested in selling cash secured puts, you cannot go wrong with this book.
Happy Investing.
