Best Book of 2008 - Graeme Hurst, Classic & Sports Car -

BOOK OF THE MONTH. Taylor's writing is clear and thorough as he guides readers through the design, its problems and improvements. A wealth of photographs superbly illustrates all points. A staggering effort born of the obsessive author's pioneering website and the assistance of fellow Montreal owners. - Classic & Sports Car -

AlI the photography is in colour and you're left in no doubt as to what should go where or how a Montreal should look. A good starting point for anyone wanting to familiarise themselves with one of Alfa's most distinctive cars. - Classic Cars -

Laid out clearly and boldly in a style that has become something of a hallmark of Veloce Publishing, the coverage is truly comprehensive ... this exceptional book is a bible not just for the owner and restorer but for the collector of associated ephemera. Perhaps the greatest compliment one can pay this book is that it may finally lay to rest the myth that the Montreal is a temperamental beast which is expensive and difficult to maintain. The Montreal has long suffered an undervalued reputation. This book may go a long way to right the balance. - Alfa Romeo Owners Club Magazine -

There must be few motoring books on the market as well written and graphically excellent ... If you have even the most passing interest in these cars, you should own a copy. If you are considering buying one, it is a must! - - ... one of the most complete, compelling, engaging, colourful and informative books ever published on a single make. Richly illustrated is an understatement. Well written is taken for granted. Immense depth, covering virtually every single point of the car, is illustrated with both excellent color photos and diagrams as necessary in chapter after chapter. - -

Browsing through this 320-page detailed tome it is hard not to be beguiled by the Montreal's individual style and stunning range of period colour schemes which combine to make it one of the most covetable cars of its generation ... this book is essential reading both before and after taking the plunge. - Gay Classic Car Group

This substantial, 320-page book tells you everything you need to know about the elegant Montreal ... for anyone with an interest in buying a Montreal, and particularly for owners, this would be an indispensable book to have. - New Zealand Classic Car

Great book, compliments! --Christopher Reitz, Director of Alfa Romeo Centro Stile

The brilliant Bruce Taylor has put together a fabulous, detailed and comprehensive look at the quite rare and exotic Alfa Romeo Montreal. From it's interesting origin to production and engineering with it's Bertone styling and race bred V8 the Montreal is a fabulous car. Bruce knows and loves this car inside and out. He knows the car as and engineer and true afficianado. Loaded with styling and intimate engineering details the book goes on and on with fabulous information and photos.

5.0 su 5 stelle Bruce MontreAlmighty hit a home run! 12 dicembre 2014

Bruce 'MontreAlmighty' hit a home run with ‘M-tEC’. Not only interesting reading but critical as a workshop manual for the Montreal owner! Containing the condensed Montreal knowledge of owners with decades of experience collected over many years.
This book is more interesting, more useful and more thorough than my previous favorite, “The Immortal 8c 2.9” and that is saying a lot. If you have a Montreal and don’t have this book; do yourself a big favor and get a copy quick! Easily worth 10 times the purchase price...
Montreal, just the coolest Alfa I have been in with 30 years of Alfa experience.

5.0 su 5 stelle A must-have for Alfa Montreal lovers 2 ottobre 2008

I finally got this book this week after having it pre-ordered for almost half a year and it was certainly worth the wait. Simply put, this is one of the best car books I've ever seen -- full of useful information for any owner and prospective buyer.

I'm not an owner (yet), so I found Chapter 3 "Buying a Montreal" and Chapter 5 "Achilles' heels" (which happen to be the water pump front bearing, the steering box, the thermostatic actuator and microswitch of the Spica fuel pump, and the reverse gear idler shaft in the gearbox) very useful. Chapter 5 also tells readers how to elimininate the problems associated with the components listed in the previous sentence.

The chapters dealing with mechanical and electrical maintenance, bodywork, and the history and production data of the Alfa Montreal are also interesting to read. Chapter 9 "Improving the Montreal" describes some modifications that may enhance handling and reliability of the car (although at the cost of originality, and subject to the owner's taste and preferences). Chapter 10 gives an overview of the race history. Th eremaining chapters deal with models, meetings, literature, tools and access to resources and services.

While much of this information can be found on the author's excellent web site [...] I find the book easier to read than the web site because of the richness resulting from the layout of text and photos on the pages. In my opinion, this is a great companion book and I recommend it to anyone interested in this specific car model or Alfas in general.
