Sinossi

If you read books such as "Three Magic Words" or "It Works" but found them lacking in a scientific, logical explanation, then this short book is for you. In "Banned Mind Control Secrets", author Richard Dotts takes a modern, scientific and coherent look at the science behind the teachings of the greatest spiritual and self-help teachers.

If you have always wondered about the existence of the subconscious mind, whether it exists and how you can tap into it in a modern, effective way... or if visualisations and affirmations have failed to produce results for you, then "Banned Mind Control Secrets" brings you the latest evidence from scientific research to uncover the TRUTH behind these techniques.

You may be surprised at how much common ground modern cutting-edge scientific research has with the age old practices taught by the great spiritual teachers. Richard Dotts shares his own personal journey, and tells you why there is really nothing separate or different about all the different self-help manifestation techniques taught throughout the ages.

This is NOT a book about how to control the minds of others, but rather, how to control your OWN mind to more effectively get and create reality in a way that pleases you.

Spam. This book is an advertisement for a ClickBank product, that you buy through a referral link! And you get to it at the end of the book.

The good reviews for this book are also spam: just read some of them - they don't make any sense. A lot was invested in inventing these reviews.

If you want a great book on starting new habits, check out Becoming Magic: A Course in Manifesting an Exceptional Life (Book 1) it is great! Or Mastering Manifestation: A Practical System For Achieving Absolutely Anything You Can Imagine. Both of these books offer practical, real-world advice for overcoming bad habits and reprogramming your conscious and subconscious mind.

In my opinion this book is nothing but an advert for a web site
that offers a computer program that does "subliminal affirmations".

Go to the website, pay your $40 and get a very average program that flashes
affirmations on your screen while you work. Theoretically these should flash so fast that the conscious
mind does not see them, sadly you can and they become more of a distraction than anything else.

There is some very decent information in this book about programming the subconscious, but essentially this book is advertising for a software program. If the book remains free or a very low cost it is worth the read, however the information is fairly basic and there are some things that were not correct as far as programming the subconscious. The advertising for the software is at the very end so it's certainly not a bad thing if you know that ahead of time.

I have certainly read worse books about the subconscious mind, and I have read better. That is why I gave the book a rating of 3.

Although I've been a self-help/ personal development fan (OK, junkie) for decades, Richard Dotts is a new find for me, thanks to suggestions from Amazon Kindle. So, if you're like me, you won't find any startling revelations in this book.

However, here's what you WILL find: If you're new to this topic, you will find the most clear and direct approach to manifestation that is available today with absolutely no wasted fluff or mystical 'woo-woo' cloaking. And for those who think they've seen every angle to this subject, you'll find Richard's delivery to be a short, extremely concise compilation of the most critical factors that make the Law of Attraction work.

Yes, I said it; the Law of Attraction DOES work! The challenge for most people, as Richard Dotts points out, is that they get hung up on the process - all the dogma - of a particular system. Instead, what Richard proposes is that, regardless of the system one uses, the Law of Attraction will absolutely work ONLY if you include the following vital elements:

1) You must be able to relax and let go
2) You must find your 'happy' place
3) You must be able to override your current subconscious beliefs by installing new ones that better serve you. This is often best done through the correct use of affirmations repeated over enough time.

Again, there are MANY ways to do each of these steps. For some people, relaxing and letting go may be as simple as taking a hot shower. I can't tell you how many great ideas I've had and problems I've solved during a quick hot shower.

Others will find breathing exercises helpful, while still others may opt for some form of hypnosis. Richard also notes that all of these different methods may work for different people at different times, so it's good - even necessary - to experiment frequently to find the method that works best for you at that time.

Here's an example of how I'm currently using Richard Dotts' advice:

I compiled a list of 20 songs that make me feel REALLY GOOD when I listen to them; songs that I never tire of; songs that actually make me feel better the MORE I listen to them!

Using my audio editing program, Audacity I also recorded 3 minutes of affirmations to implant new beliefs that were relevant to what I wanted to manifest and become. I then took that 3 minute segment and copied it to a second track. Next, I panned the first track to the extreme right and the second track to the extreme left. Finally, I staggered the two tracks so that they would sound different in each ear.

So now, I've got my 20 favorite songs as the main part of my audio. These songs put me in a GREAT mood. I've got the two affirmation tracks staggered and volume adjusted so that I can just barely make out the words of the affirmations. As an extra, I also included a BWE (Brain Wave Entrainment) track which is simply an audio vibration designed to deeply relax the brain. This track is also volume balanced behind the songs.

Altogether, this creates an audio lasting about an hour and 20 minutes. I load it onto my MP3 player and listen to it as I fall asleep. My MP3 player loops throughout the night, so I'm getting my affirmations subconsciously implanted in a way that I find MOST ENJOYABLE!

OK, that's how I implement the 3 vital elements. Big deal, right? Does it WORK? Here's what happened to me recently since I started using this system 3 weeks ago.

The back-story started last October when I bought a very expensive course to learn how to market online. It costs $4,000 and came with a 30-day money back guarantee. By December, I realized that I had made a HUGE MISTAKE in taking on this course- it just wasn't for me. I submitted my request to get my money back.

Do the math - October to December = more than 30 days. "Sorry!" came back the reply. "You're past 30 days... no refund for you!" Of course, I argued my case, but to no avail. They were adamant about the 'no refund beyond 30 days' policy. I sucked it up and was fully prepared to write this off as a loss - another very expensive and painful lesson learned.

Then just last week, out of the blue I got an email from this company telling me about all the 'wonderful new things' they had coming up. As I was still reeling from the bitter experience last fall, I sent the company back a reply telling them that unless they were willing to honor my refund request, they should remove my email from their list and never contact me again!

To my great astonishment, a representative wrote me back all apologetic and offered me refund equal to about 65% of my original investment - nearly $2,600!

Remember, I had already accepted this as a loss back in December. And I do remember AT THAT TIME asking them to remove me from their mailing list!

Coincidence? You'll have a hard time convincing me that LOA doesn't work, especially when using the essential elements as outlined in this wonderful book. For sure, I'll continue to use my homemade audio because it utilizes all the critical parts that make LOA work. And I'll also be checking out other books by this author as I really appreciate his direct, no-fluff, yet relaxed conversational style of writing.

If you're new to the subject it's a good book to summarize the content of a lot of self-help books.

Basically if want to change your habits then you must reprogram your subconscious mind. You do so with well crafted affirmations and visualization. Sounds easy enough, but first you must get past your conscious mind which acts as the "gate keeper."

For example, let's say you want to lose 50 pounds. First this is a bad affirmation because it talks about a want and future goal. Instead use, I weight [goal weight] pounds. Second your conscious mind will reject these thoughts, because you've never weighted that weight or you always have problems losing weight. You can do a couple of things to get around this, repetition or subliminal messaging. If you have a good affirmation and do it long enough your subconscious mind will get the message and create the reality.

That's basically the entire book summed up in paragraph.

It's a good read for newbies. And like other reviewers said it's really short. I've read sample chapters longer than this book! Also, it is an advertisement for the subliminal software, although it's a very soft pitch at the end. So I don't mind because it's good content and doesn't overwhelm the book.

Nothing special about the book. For 99cent it's something I would give to someone new to the topic because it's a short read that summarizes the subject.

But for me it was just, Meh...
