I rate this book with 5 stars! In my opinion this was an amazing book to read. Although the chapters were extremely long, the book still kept my interest. Once I read the first four chapters, I thought I knew what the title meant. But as I kept reading, I soon realized I did not or there was more to the title.
I enjoyed seeing Chantelle go from a little innocent little girl to a beautiful women who experienced a lot of heart ache. Chantelle's suffered heart ache from her parents, to her first love, to a guy named Red, ending with her then best friend Shaun. It was nice to see Chantelle connect with the lady from Desiree from church. Desiree was the voice of reasoning. She provided Chantelle with a genuine friendship. Desiree opened up to Chantelle and allowed into her circle. I felt really bad for Chantelle when you best friend left her in the hotel room with the guy named Red. I liked how Chantelle never gave up when she was fighting for her life that night. I liked how once she got her life on the right path, how God sent Dre her way, who turned out to be Chantelle's Prince charming!!!! It was carzy to see how jealous Shaun was of Chantelle's life. Shaun was so jealous she felt the need to make up lies about suffering trauma or lost. Chantelle seen Shaun for who she really was when she confessed about what happened the day Chantelle walked in or her and her stepdad.
I would recommend this book to a person who has lost a parent. I would also recommend this book to a person who has been scared both mentally or physically. Or even to a person who just wants a good book to read. It's definitely a tear jerked!!!! anyone who wants to read a great book.
