Sinossi

Book Two in the Thriller Award–nominated Huntress/FBI series

Twenty-five years have passed since a savage killer terrorized California, massacring three ordinary families before disappearing without a trace. The only surviving victim of his rampage was a child…who is now wanted by the FBI for brutal crimes of her own.

Special Agent Matthew Roarke is on an interstate manhunt to track her down, despite feeling torn between his dedication to duty and his sympathy for her horrific history and motives. But when Roarke’s search unearths evidence of new family slayings, the dangerous woman he seeks—and secretly wants—may be his only hope of preventing another bloodbath. He just has to find her first.

The pulse-pounding sequel to Huntress Moon is sure to leave readers on the edges of their seats.

Revised edition: This edition of Blood Moon includes editorial revisions.

Lettura in ogni caso piacevole.

This second book of the FBI trilogy is a little less engaging of the first, and there are some repetitions. The plot is very well put together (maybe even too much, each scene arriving right when you expect it), though there is a twist not so much unexpected as somehow dropped into the plot, characters are simple but full. I'm going to read the third book, too, I want to know the proceedings of this story, which could be the history of an obsession, if only it was a bit deeper. Anyhow, a nice read.

I've recently read the two books of 'The Huntress' saga and I found both of them really entertaining and well written. In the blood moon there is something special that won't let you drop the book for any reason whatsoever. I am not really a fast reader but I completed the story in less than 5 days.

Thrilling, with great surprises it is a great choice.

I am not going to reveal anything about the story to avoid spoiling it, but trust me, if you liked the Huntress Moon, you'll love this one.

5.0 su 5 stelle Did not disappoint as a sequel to 1st book 21 giugno 2016
Di M. Johnston - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
This is a second book in a book series by this author. After reading the first book I couldn't wait to get to this one, I was not disappointed. This is definitely an edge of your seat thriller and be cautioned it is graphically violent, it is, after all, about a serial killer. It is well written and you get good character development. It seems like it picks up 2 weeks after the 1st book ends so they blend seamlessly together. To me, it is not a long book but I am a fast reader so what takes me a short time to read may take another longer, usually once I start reading I don't stop until it's done but I am obsessive that way, I had started the 3rd book but decided I needed to take a break, being in the mind of a serial killer can take a lot out of you emotionally so I had to give myself a break, it is that intense. Well to me it was anyway. If you read this I don't think you will be disappointed if you like these types of books.

4.0 su 5 stelle The Huntress - 4 1/2 Stars! 24 giugno 2016
Di Biggle Bop - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I gave this book 4 1/2 Stars because it is well-written, full of suspense, and held my attention from beginning to end. I really appreciated the characters...especially the two flawed protagonists. The clandestine feelings between the FBI Agent and the Huntress intensifies the drama and heightens the mystery of the story. What I really didn't care for were the vivid descriptions of macabre mutilation and gore; especially when it involved children. Unfortunately, the author is so talented she brings these bloody screens to life in a manner that is way too disturbing for my taste. Nevertheless, I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy thrillers and don't mind grotesque mental images of the unthinkable. The book is basically about a mass murder survivor who rights the wrongs of society's downtrodden souls, and the FBI agent who is ambivalent about bringing her to justice. All in all, this was a very good book. And GOOD JOB Alexandra Sokoloff!
5.0 su 5 stelle Top Notch Series by a Top of the Mark Author!!! 21 aprile 2017
Di Paty Cockrum - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

This is a most excellent series with top of the mark writing, excellent character development and fine and convoluted mysteries. The psychological drama in the series is first rate and compelling. A hint of adult sexual presence but only a hint... which I find refreshing after some of the hot and heavy sex scenes of other series.
this is a series for those who truly love mysteries... not only who dunnit, but WHY it was done and how and where and should the cops really go after this killer??? The killer in question is actually doing society a favor by taking out monsters the law has to treat with kid gloves... so ya can't be mad at her...yeah... HER!!!
Which is why it is called "The Huntress Series"!
These books are exceptionally well written... literate, fast paced and dramatically stimulating in the storytelling. Extremely well edited, as well. A truly professional series all around. Kudos to all involved in this series.

I am on the fourth book now and dread it's conclusion as I a know I shall have to wait a while for the next, if there is a next, which I sincerely hope there is!!!
Wonderful books!!! I heartily recommend them!!!

4.0 su 5 stelle Strong Characters / Fast-Paced Plot 9 maggio 2013
Di TheSWalks - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
The book and author were recommended by Margaret Maron, of whom I am a big fan. The beginning seemed sluggish, and the point-of-view transitions were too abrupt and disjointed. However, within a few chapters, the author seemed to gain more confidence and these problems disappeared. The plot was intriguing and fast-paced, and the characters were interesting and well-developed. (And I didn't need a flow chart to keep track of who's who!) As I continued to read, the author's style began to remind me of the early novels written by Faye Kellerman and Patricia Cornwell. (Which I consider to be Cornwell's better efforts.) I did feel that the moral conflict experienced by the lead male character was over exaggerated, and I began to scan over these sections when they failed to add anything relevant to the story-line. I enjoyed the novel enough that I couldn't put it down; I will read other novels by the author. On a side note, electronic format software is still in the early stages of development and the few grammatical errors I encountered seemed connected to this.

5.0 su 5 stelle Outstanding read, I can't wait for the next one in this series 18 aprile 2015

I listen to this on audio:

The author grabs you from page one and keeps you on the edge through to the end.
This is the second book in this series I have to say I am still a little torn between who to cheer for... the killer or the police. I know what Cara is doing is bad but I can't bring myself to not like her. I know Roarke must do his job hunt her and bring her in but for the life of my I can't bring myself to want the same thing. The author gives you such a compelling story of such pain one women trying to find justice and the FBI agent who is looking for her as he is pulled into a web of what to do. Can justice be served or will the hunt continue as Cara brings down monsters why protecting the people?

Ms. Sokoloff paints a story of horrible crimes and the one person who is doing her best to bring them down while Agent Roarke is torn between what he must do and what he wishes he could do. This book takes off where book 1 leave off, with some intents and very graphic story lines. I have fast fell in love with her as a writer and will follow as she takes me on one heck of a ride on a whirlwind travel of justice being served. She gives us serious issues that will break your heart, you wish you could hold the characters and give them hope. Maybe make a few of their dreams come true. Her plots are outstanding and very believable, her writing style is out of this world as she gives you wonderful characters why she spins a compelling tale and keeps you on the edge of your seat cheering first one and then the other on the hunt for monsters who deserve to die. She gives you chilling scenes that will stay with you long after you have finish the read. She paints the picture in your mind of murder, blood that gave me chills why she writes from alternate points of view from the FBI agent and the woman he is chasing, being able to see the story from both sides which made an outstanding read.

R.C. Bray as a narrator is outstanding he holds my interest and keeps me coming back for more as he brings my heart to my throat and give me visual of the bloody scenes along with the monsters that nature has given us. I love his many different voices at times I forget he is a man when I hear the women talking. His voice has chills going down my back as he held me on the edge not being able to put the book down. He gives just the correct amount of roughness to each character as he gives the softer side to the women.

This ending will have you holding your breath as you say NO NO NO please NO only to find you saying it over and over again before the last word is read. It does have a happy ending but a sad one.I would have to say Cara is and will always be my hero but so is Roarke. I have never read a book where I have been so torn. What an ending I do have to say it is great but I am so torn on that as well....I highly recommend this series it gives you all the thrills and chills along with suspense and mystery you could ask for. This series has just blown me away....I can't wait for the next book in this series.
