5.0 su 5 stelle The One Book I Take Everywhere 2 marzo 2013
Di Jason D. Henderson - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
I have traveled the world the past few years, and there has been one book that has followed me every step of the way regardless of the space in my luggage.

That book is The Boron Letters by the greatest copywriter whoever lived, Gary Halbert.

I've had the honor of being great friends with Gary's best student, Bond Halbert.

He personally handed me an original copy of The Boron Letters at Canter's Deli in Hollywood, California

I can't even count the number of times I have read it since then.

Something that people might not realize is that The Boron Letters contains a wealth of information that applies to email marketing (That fits perfectly with all the masterful copywriting and marketing strategies).

The fact that of it being a touching love letter from father to son is icing on the cake.

What I love about the kindle version is the amazing commentary and insight by Bond.

My notes from The Boron Letters have become much larger, and I already applied something new I learned.

I'll be reading the kindle version again this weekend here in Mexico and yet again wherever my travels take me

5.0 su 5 stelle Fundamental Marketing Wisdom 4 marzo 2013
Di John Carlton - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle
Many moons ago, I turned my back on a million-dollar career copywriting for the largest direct-mail outfits in the biz (as I rose in the ranks of recognized A-List copywriters), in order to wander off into the unknown world of whacko direct-response entrepreneurs as Gary Halbert's sidekick. Best decision I ever made, and the path we forged over our 20-year friendship has given me wealth and happiness beyond anything I deserved.

What drew me to Gary initially was his monthly mailed newsletter (The Gary Halbert Letter). It was like finding the lone real artist in a city of wannabe's. The icing on that, however, was then discovering these Boron Letters. I first met Bond when he was still in high school, and these letters had only recently been sent to him by his dear ol' Pop. It was easy to see how the little bastard got so precocious about biz and marketing, because these letters were pure gold. The first batch I read were all in Gary's own handwriting (a vicious scrawl, as all great writers have), and he was still weighing the pros and cons of publishing them for the general public. Cuz, you know, they're so raw.

Consider yourself fortunate that they're available. Marketing books come and go, and business fads come and go, and guru's wander onto and off of the stage with a sobering frequency. The Boron Letters, however, are a concentrated energy mass of the essential fundamentals that will last until our civilization crumbles. Gary sought out wisdom, insight, advice, tactics, philosophies and insider info like a terrier hunting down squirrels... but what made him unique was his ability to field-test everything in the real world (and really give each tidbit a go-round to see if it failed or succeeded when it counted), and thus distill all kinds of info and techniques into his own kind of savvy, which was simple for him for teach to others.

This is "the wisdom of the business world" run through the Halbert meat-grinder, and made into a tasty meal that's easily digested and simple to put to good use (if you've got the cojones).

There are a lot of books and courses and newsletters and videos that belong on your office bookshelves. Only a few will ever get dog-eared from frequent readings. This is one of the best. Just stop dithering and buy it. All the top copywriters and entrpreneurs already own a copy.

It's an essential.

5.0 su 5 stelle OMG, The Boron Letters? $10? 19 giugno 2013
Di Mary Baum - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Formato Kindle Acquisto verificato
In 2007 I'd spent 28 years as a combination writer/art director in traditional marketing - advertising, corporate communications and ad agencies' versions of direct marketing.

Then I started studying direct marketing. From the folks who really knew it. After about five minutes, I could see the huge, giagantic, gaping, no-comparison difference:

Agencies produced gorgeous mailings that looked great in their presentations to other prospective clients.

The people I was learning from - a secret society of sorts - produced cash.

For their clients and themselves. Of the top three, two are amazingly successful. Rich, even. Worth tens of millions of dollars.

The third is dead.

His name is Gary Halbert.

I don't know of anyone in the know who doesn't think of Gary as the best who ever lived. The other two - Dan Kennedy, whose courseware I own - and John Carlton - whose blog I read regularly and who worked with Gary for years - worship Gary as a modern god.

Now, you can't study this discipline from Kennedy or Carlton without hearing about Halbert. Which in turn leads to hearing about the Boron letters.

They are famous.

I don't even want to think about what they must have cost when Gary's son Bond first published them. References in online discussions to this book-plus-annotation, in a multimedia version, led me to believe it cost hundreds of dollars. I haven't checked, but I wouldn't be surprised to find one for at least that price and maybe more. Because, c'mon - this is Halbert! Talking to his son! and Teaching marketing! And copy!

But at $9.99, it's an absolute must.

Okay. This Kindle version isn't all the letters. It's just the first 25. 25 separate douments: of a father's love, a man's struggle with himself and the world. And - business. Not just marketing, but how to get things done. How to deal with people. How to keep on keeping on. How to make money, even from prison. Yup. Halbert was doing his regular freelance gigs and entrepreneurial joint ventures. FROM PRISON.

If you've been studying DM for several years. as I have, there's a lot here to learn. Enough that I was glad I had it as insurance this past Sunday night, on the eve of my first-ever mailing in support of my own business.

But if this is the first inkling you've ever had that agency mailings are not direct mail at all, it's also the perfect place to start.

5.0 su 5 stelle The Book That Launched a Million Dollar Copywriting Career 6 marzo 2013
Di Michael D. Morgan - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

2005... desperate to change careers and leave a job I hated, I found copywriting. At first, the claims of how much money you could make seemed like hype. I emailed a bunch of top copywriters and they told me it was true, but you had to get good. And to get good, you not only had to be a good writer, you had to learn marketing. Without hesitation, I was pointed in the direction of Gary Halbert.

When I discovered the Boron Letters, I could not stop reading. At the time I was an executive recruiter and I literally locked myself in my office for 3 days devouring them. What an education. The Boron Letters were the perfect foundation for my career. I got to meet Gary some months later and attended a seminar. I followed him closely until that fateful day he passed.

A few years later, I met Bond and Kevin Halbert. Immediately I noticed they were both sharp cookies who obviously knew Gary's work cold and actually used it in a variety of situations. Bond has made this great work even more accessible by adding valuable commentary and showing how the information applies in 2013... and you won't find that anywhere else. Ten bucks for The Boron Letters can easily turn into millions if you apply the lessons. They are as timely today as the day Gary wrote them.

5.0 su 5 stelle A direct marketing classic... now on STEROIDS! 6 marzo 2013
Di Daniel Gallapoo - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

I have an original copy of The Boron Letters that is so dog-eared it's literally falling apart at the seams. When I heard it was now available as a Kindle book, I was ecstatic.

When I discovered that Bond, Gary Halbert's son, had added his own commentary, exposing lots of behind-the-scenes info about each chapter, I couldn't click the order button fast enough.

If anybody else in the world had tried to add commentary to The Boron Letters, it would be like spray-painting the Sistine Chapel.

But Bond Halbert, Gary's first protégé, immersed in the "Halbert way" longer than any other protégé... is the ONLY guy on the planet who has pulled off the impossible. He has made the Sistine Chapel more beautiful than ever.

This updated addition with Bond's commentary has now become one of the most treasured books in my massive marketing library.
