Consiglio entrami i libri! (

Consigliatissima a chi ama personaggi danneggiati e passionali. A chi ama un romantico e necessario (in questo caso) lieto fine. A chi ama le belle storie!

5.0 su 5 stelle Phenomenal conclusion to an emotionally charged and memorable story 28 aprile 2015
Di Misha - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

Review originally posted at The Book Enthusiast: http://thebookenthusiast.net/broken-juliet-starcrossed-2-by-leisa-rayven-review.

Broken Juliet by Leisa Rayven was one of my most anticipated releases of the year. After reading Bad Romeo I had one of those “Where have you been all my life?!” moments about Rayven. I have been calling her the Queen of Angst for a while now, and I knew if the conclusion of Cassie and Ethan’s story was anything like the beginning I would need the wine and Xanax handy. Broken Juliet was easily one of the best books I have read this year. Rayven did a masterful job of creating an emotionally charged and memorable story that stole my heart. The series as a whole has definitely been added to my all-time favorites list.

While Bad Romeo focused on the fact that Ethan broke Cassie’s heart, Broken Juliet actually showed us how he broke it. The story starts exactly where it left off with Cassie seriously contemplating giving Ethan one more chance. Once again the scenes alternate between the present and the past. Rayven does a fantastic job of ending each chapter at just the right place, leaving the reader frantically flipping through the pages to find out what happened next. The chapters work together seamlessly to give us a full picture of what happened between Cassie and Ethan and what the future has in store for them.

The Cassie we see in this book has some serious doubts to overcome. Her heart wanted Ethan, but as the title of the book suggests he had broken her. As we learned more details about their past, my heart was aching for her. Ethan didn’t simply hurt her. He crushed her. How do you learn to trust someone who has done that to you? Her struggle felt real and honest. I will admit that a part of me wanted to see her scream at him and maybe punch him in the face. Not terribly mature, but he would have deserved it. Cassie was such an intelligent and strong woman, and it was easy to empathize with her. Should she listen to her head or her heart?

Ethan. Oh, Ethan. Let me start by saying that I have always liked Ethan. I haven’t always liked his behavior, but as our hero I am a fan. In the present day scenes of Broken Juliet we saw a much different Ethan. He was remorseful and devastated over how he had hurt Cassie. Ethan was determined to win her back at all costs. I appreciated that he understood it would take time. His patience and genuine adoration for Cassie won me over. There was no doubt in my mind that she was his heart and soul. Once he truly let his feelings shine through, there was no stopping him. Some of those journal entries simply gutted me.

I cannot stress enough how perfectly Rayven married the past and the present in this story. Seeing what Cassie went through because of Ethan’s self-doubt was a difficult pill to swallow. The push and pull between them was exhausting at times. Their love was such an emotional rollercoaster, but somewhere in my heart I just knew that they belonged together. Not only did Cassie and Ethan have crazy chemistry (I thought my Kindle was going to catch on fire in some parts!), but they also had such a fun way of bantering and interacting with each other that was incredibly endearing. The connection between them was undeniable.

Rayven deserves a standing ovation for this book and the series as a whole. Her writing style is wonderful. Cassie and Ethan’s story drew me in from the very beginning and never let go. I enjoyed watching how they changed and grew from the first book to this one, especially Ethan. Love is never easy, and Cassie and Ethan are certainly proof of that. Broken Juliet was a delicious mix of angst, steam, and raw emotion that I felt on every single page. I can’t wait for Elissa’s book, and I hope we will see a little of Cassie and Ethan in there. Kudos to Rayven on another incredible story. This is one series you absolutely don’t want to miss.

5.0 su 5 stelle Outstanding writing, character development that's palpable and chemistry that bleeds of the page! 28 aprile 2015
Di Robin Segnitz - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

Leisa Rayven delighted readers with her debut novel Bad Romeo, a passionate and dysfunctional romance about Ethan Holt and Cassie Taylor. In this first novel of the Starcrossed series, Ethan and Cassie are students at The Grove, a prestigious acting school. Ethan is closed-off. Moody. Cassie is wildly attracted to Ethan’s bad boy ways. Their love is all-consuming and toxic. Their chemistry on fire. Push and pull. Flawed and real. Ethan ruins Cassie for all other men, and then he breaks her heart twice.

“He was my first true friend. My first love. First lover. The master of more pleasure than I knew existed, and the architect of more heartache than I thought I could endure.”

Broken Juliet is the conclusion to Ethan and Cassie’s tumultuous love story. Once again, chapters alternate between past and present, with the story being told from Cassie’s perspective. Rayven begins the story where she left off at the end of Bad Romeo. It’s been six years since Ethan and Cassie first met in acting school and three years since the last time they saw each other. Both of them have been cast as leads for a Broadway production. Ethan shows up at Cassie’s front door to ask for forgiveness. He admits he had trust issues. He knows he broke her heart. Ethan tells Cassie he has changed, and he hopes she will give them one more chance.

In chapters from the past, Cassie shares details about her relationship with Ethan. Our eyes are gradually opened to the truth behind Ethan’s brokenness, and why he was not able to commit to a relationship with Cassie. We begin to see the damage he inflicted on her life. Ethan reveals details about his road to recovery during the present chapters. This new and improved Ethan is endearing. Patient. Kind. Full of love. He knows what Cassie is going through because he’s experienced it himself. He broke her heart twice, but now he wants to help her put the pieces back together. There is an intense flame between Cassie and Ethan that never burned out, and both of them know it. It’s obvious they still love each other, but can Cassie trust Ethan with her heart again?

The Starcrossed series is refreshing and different. It’s apparent to me Leisa Rayven is knowledgeable about theatre and acting. She is also a very good writer. Her writing is a step up in quality from what I typically read. Dialogue between characters feels honest and real. Her written conversations capture my attention, and I’m not just referring to dialogue between the main characters. I enjoyed the lessons about acting taught by Erika to students at The Grove. Journal entries. Memories. Arguments. General discussion between characters feels natural in Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet.

Ethan and Cassie have chemistry that bleeds off the page. It was like this in Bad Romeo, and their attraction is smoking hot in Broken Juliet. Lovemaking scenes are passionate and fresh. It never felt cliché. Leisa Rayven encompasses the entire experience. Mental state. Emotions. Physical response.

Ethan and Cassie have experienced heartbreaking loss. Both of them are damaged. But these characters have evolved, and I feel their character growth is palpable in Broken Juliet. Make sure you read the fantastic conclusion to Cassie and Ethan’s story. I highly recommend 5-star Broken Juliet!

5.0 su 5 stelle An entertaining love story by Leisa Rayven 11 ottobre 2015

*An entertaining love story by author Leisa Rayven that will captivate your heart in book 2 and the conclusion of the Starcrossed Series. Mixed with raw emotions and undying love, this duet will have you reading to the very last page................Trying desperately to put the past behind her, Cassandra "Cassie" Taylor is finding it impossible ever since Ethan Holt crept back into her life when she least expected it. As much as she tried to concentrate on her Broadway role as Juliet, she was having nothing but difficulty ever since Ethan was signed to play Romeo, the same roles that they once played in college but most of all, how she fell madly in love with him during that time and most importantly, how he broke her heart. Vowing never to see him again ever since their college and acting days, she had no other choice in the matter now for she finally landed her big break on Broadway, a chance she may never have again. Ethan had never forgotten about Cassie once in the last three years and losing her was the biggest regret of his life and he wanted her back with a strong will to prove to her that he had changed and he was willing to fight for the two of them regardless how long it took. Cassie never stopped loving Ethan but she couldn't forget how much hurt he'd put her through, especially when her mind kept drifting back to "The Grove", their elite acting school and her undying love for the gorgeous bad boy back then. Could she ever let down her guard with him ever again? Can she ever trust him like she once did when they were crazy in love? When Ethan gives Cassie some personal journals to read, she not only discovers a secret that surprises her but a true revelation that nearly breaks her heart all over again. Is it true? Feeling like the world is crashing on top of her, Cassie realizes the one person who was really responsible from keeping her from having any true happiness at all in her near future and is shocked by the revelation..herself!..........this was a excellent duet about rekindled love.........thank you.........♡♡

We all have a series that we are just dying to wait for the sequel. This one was it for me. Bad Romeo book one had me hooked. My heart melting for these two young people. The ending crushed me like no other. Broken Juliet repaired me, I am no longer crushed, I am whole, Just like Cassie and Holt are now.
Broken Juliet picks up right where bad Romeo left off, only this time the tables are turned and it's Holt who has to piece back together his beloved Cassie.
There are so many parts of this book that left my heart melting with the things Ethan Holt would say to Cassie. I was like dang Leisa Rayven you wrote that perfectly.
Leisa has you dipping your big toe into the water on one page and then fully submersing your entire body on the next page.
There isn't one bad thing I can say. If you want a story that will have you panting from beginning to end with the sexual chemistry between two people then this series is for you. It's about absolute true love and the depths a man will do to show the woman he loves that she is the one. It's about a broken woman who doesn't have the ability to trust, not even herself. The only thing she has to go on are the bad choices she has made. She learns from them and grows. Simply brilliant in my opinion.

I've devoured the first two books in this series in succession, finding myself with a serious crush on Ethan. This book takes the sting out of the cliff you're left on with Bad Romeo. Ethan's transformation reinforces why I have felt so pulled towards him, because this man is something else, he's irresistible. Cassie is the one with some work to do in this book and it's certainly a journey.

The narrative of past and present continues in this book and it suits their story so well. Questions are asked and answers are revealed. The chemistry is off the charts with these two, just a delight to read. This book has the ability to transport you from your own world and place you in the acting world, full of complications and opportunities. The push and pull with these two is familiar but not boring and I enjoyed filling all the gaps in their years together and apart.

I am now highly anticipating Wicked Heart, I have no doubt that Leisa Rayven can take Elissa's character and produce a story of worth and heat.
