5.0 su 5 stelle Reintroducing a Legend 27 luglio 2013
Di A Fan - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina rigida Acquisto verificato
This collects the first Silver Age stories of the rediscovered Captain America from the Tales of Suspense and Captain America comics. These stories reintroduced the long dormant Captain America to the Marvel Universe. The writing and art work is top of the line for the 1960s and established Captain America as one of Marvel's franchise characters. It features the work of his co-creator, the legendary Jack Kirby. This collection is a must for any Captain America fan or fan of Silver Age comics.

5.0 su 5 stelle Syd Shores, one of the better Kirby inkers 4 giugno 2011
Di Moses - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina rigida Acquisto verificato
I have the "Complete Sky Masters Collection" newspaper/Sundays strips from the 50's drawn by Jack Kirby and inked by Wally Wood, which is absolute fantastic. I have too say that Syd Shores inking Kirby on Captain America is just as equally good. This could be some of Kirby's best work. This Omnibus takes me back when I was a kid collecting reprints of Captain America, Spider-Man and The Hulk (anybody remember Marvel Triple Action?) The cover of Tales of Suspense number 80, the Red skull holding the Cosmic cube, classic silver age, love it, I have two of the originals, one of my all time favorite comic covers. I expect this book to sell out just like the Fantastic Four Omnibus vol 2. It's a beautiful book.
5.0 su 5 stelle All of Cap's early sixties adventures in one place! 17 giugno 2012
Di Ian - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina rigida Acquisto verificato
If you're a die-hard Captain America fan like myself, then you will love this omnibus. It contains all of the early Cap stories from the early to mid-sixties. While it will feel incredibly dated to newer fans (these comics came out before I was even born), it's still a great read and incredibly fun. I loved Jack Kirby's artwork in all of these issues, but the highlight for me was the three issues near the end that were drawn by Jim Steranko. It's a damn shame that he didn't stay on the title much longer because I really enjoyed his artwork! Like I said before, this one's for the die-hards, but give it a shot because you definitely get your money's worth with this one!

5.0 su 5 stelle Shield-slinging awesome! 1 settembre 2011
Di Kindle Customer - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina rigida Acquisto verificato
If you're a Captain America fan, this tome is for you! All the Kirby stuff from Tales of Suspense 59-99 is included along with issues 100-113 from the Captain America book that Suspense turned into. Rip-roaring tales that include the Sleeper saga, the first Cosmic Cube adventure, the introduction of Sharon, some retold tales of 1940s adventures and some Steranko art to wrap it up. Wow! Marvel comics at its' finest. Read 'em, you'll love 'em. Make Mine Marvel.

5.0 su 5 stelle When Captain America Throws His Mighty Shield... 5 giugno 2011
Di D. L. Haynes - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina rigida Acquisto verificato
Here are gathered some of the best comic book stories of all time! In preparation for the July 2011 release of "Captain America: The First Avenger" I decided to buy this and read up on my Captain America. I rediscovered my favorite Cap stories including the tale of the Cosmic Cube and "The Sentinel and the Spy." I also read for the first time the tale of MODOK and what happened to the Red Skull after the Cosmic Cube.

These stories are the best of the best and if you enjoy 'Cap', or Silver Age Marvel comics, or the writing/artistry of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, then what are you doing still reading my lame review? Click on the "Add To Cart" button and go sit by the mail box to wait. Trust me you'll be glad you did!

Now lets all sing together:

When Captain America throws his mighty shield
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield
If he's led to a fight and the duel is due
Then the red and the white and the blue will come through
When Captain America throws his mighty shield!

Excelsior!!!
