This is a very enjoyable read about Lila who, after disgracing herself completely at the office Christmas party, is fired from her job just before Christmas and then embarks on a life changing move to Redwood Cove, a small town set in the North California vineyard area and, strangely enough, the setting of her earlier public humiliation. We then see her transformation from city slicking career girl to small town dweller, with the help of her friends who are all totally different from each other, but fun and interesting to read about. There is also, of course, the romantic interest and I liked the way this panned out slowly over the course of the book, more realistically than a lot of romance reads.
Although the book is called Christmas in Wine Country it is not strictly a Christmas read as the events take place over a whole year, spanning two Christmases. It is a fun read with a good plot which spans out nicely and an excellent group of believable, likeable characters.
There are quite a few grammatical errors, mainly missing words and it would improve the book a great deal if these were removed, although they didn't spoil the flow of the story at all.
