Imagine a history book written by the crew of Monty Python and narrated by Jim Carrey. Take the funniest stories from it and what you get is "Let's Conquer Paris," a humor book that affirms:
★THOSE WHO SAY LIFE IS STRANGER THAN FICTION, DON'T READ A LOT OF FICTION.★
Welcome to history according to Oleg Medvedkov. Compared by critics to Twain, Wodehouse, and Vonnegut, Medvedkov is a fast-rising name in the humor and comedy genre. His new book, "Let's Conquer Paris," adds a much-needed dose of hilarity to popular myths, legends, and historical events. Did you know that:
✔ Stories of Minotaur roaming the labyrinth, or adventures of Greek Gods and Heroes can be hilarious, if done right?
✔ The fall of Troy is a natural comedy gold?
✔ If you take a time machine and add New Zealand to it, you can see it all going to hell in a handbasket while you are laughing hysterically?
As you read this book, please keep in mind: This is a humor book first, and historical fiction a distant tenth. Laugh now, try to fail history tests later.
From the Publisher: This is a special Collector's Edition of "Let's Conquer Paris." The first 5000 readers will receive the rest of the books in "Lunch Break Funnies" series free, already included in the download:
✔ How to Prevent Unicorns from Stealing Your Car
✔ Invisible Bricks
✔ Dragon Who Loved Water Lilies
✔ Love Advice for The Dog of Action
✔ Well-Behaved, Polite Vampire
Reviews for "Lunch Break Funnies" series:
➨ Oleg Medvedkov is funny, No, Oleg Medvedkov spins tales of uncovering the wildest forms of human behavior - that sound strangely plausible. And that is one reason he is so hilarious - his insanities skip past us every day. Oleg just notices them for what they are. -Grady Harp, Top 50 Reviewer, Hall of Fame Reviewer
➨ Humorous stories that are delivered in a fast-paced madcap style that never slowed down. -J. Chambers, Top 50 Reviewer
➨ The pages flew by. -Dennis Littrell, Top 500 Reviewer, Hall of Fame Reviewer

The stories within this collection play like inside jokes with one another. “Time Machine,” is worth the whole book – it starts – “I'll be the first to admit–mistakes were made. When we found the time machine, we all thought it would be awesome. The things we could do. Even Frankie “Five Fingers” was on board, if I remember. His exact phrase was “Fellers, I want to push dis button. Can I?” Good times. Now let's trace back the timeline and see what went wrong.”

one of my favorite stories in the book and I hope this quote isn’t a spoiler but it keeps making me laugh, “If any of you tweeps have other ideas on why we should take Paris, please keep them to yourselves. I like things to be simple.”
The thing that makes Medvedkov’s books so addicting is how quirky and unusual the stories are. I’ve never read anything quite like his style. Parts of it remind me of something out of MAD Magazine, blended with Monty Python, but smarter, wittier and a bit more askew. It’s great fun! And in the middle of the laughs, one discovers actual characters who aren’t as simple as they may first appear. “Seriously, a guy with horns gets no respect.” With those wonderful characters and all the humor, I wasn’t surprised to find satire and thought provoking depth, because, as I said, I’ve read Medvedkov’s work before. Now, I’m going to pick up another book from his Lunch Break Funnies, Humor Book series, because as I noted earlier, they are addicting.

One of the things I enjoyed the most in this book were some of the stories which draw on recognisable characters and settings such as the minotaur and the labyrinth, and then twists in the tale into something new which leaves you reeling with laughter.
There is such a range of humour and story within these pages that it is impossible for there not to be something to please everyone. Each tale is a bite-sized portion which makes it the perfect companion for the bedside table or lunch break laugh.
