Get a FREE sneak peek at the first four chapters of New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas' thrilling and seductive new series, which blends Beauty and the Beast with faerie lore.

When nineteen-year-old huntress Feyre kills a wolf in the woods, a beast-like creature arrives to demand retribution for it. Dragged to a treacherous magical land she only knows about from legends, Feyre discovers that her captor is not an animal, but Tamlin--one of the lethal, immortal faeries who once ruled their world.

As she dwells on his estate, her feelings for Tamlin transform from icy hostility into a fiery passion that burns through every lie and warning she's been told about the beautiful, dangerous world of the Fae. But an ancient, wicked shadow over the faerie lands is growing, and Feyre must find a way to stop it . . . or doom Tamlin--and his world--forever.

Perfect for fans of Kristen Cashore and George R. R. Martin, this first book in a sexy and action-packed new series is impossible to put down!

This was a reread before I read A Court of Mist and Fury with Paige. I am SO GLAD I read it because it brought back tons of memories, feels, and thoughts. I loved the characters. Feyre is AMAZING. I love how strong-willed, smart, and independent she is. She is able to take care of herself and her family for so long without relying on others to help her.

I love her relationship with Tam. I think it is great that she is finally getting her chance at love. She doesn't have to rely on just herself, but she gets to have fun and get to know someone else that she could potentially fall in love with. She doesn't have to worry about her family and if they are fed.

This is such a great and interesting read. It has the NA classification because of the sexy times, but it is an amazing fantasy read. Reading it a second time was well worth it. I loved finding out the small details that I missed the first time.

When I first picked up this book and started to read it, I didn't think I would like it because I'm not really a fan of the Throne of Glass series. But I'm so glad that I ended up reading it because it is so good. Typically I am not a fantasy or fairytale retelling fan, but I have been lately and I AM SO HAPPY about it. I get to read all the books that I was putting off for so long.

The characters and their dialogue is so easy to follow. Tam and Lucien were feared at first, but after a while you start to really love them because you get to know them. When Feyre finally gets to know Tam you KNOW that something is going to happen. I am scared to find out what happens in ACOMAF because so many people have been rooting for one character and I just don't know how to feel about that.

I love the parts with the tests because it seemed like it was SO LONG but it really wasn't. Most of the story is spent building the actual story. You get to know the world that Tam and Lucien live in and their rules, government, and history all while Feyre is getting to know who she is living with and where she is living. The tests at the end were described like you were part of them!

Sarah's ability to describe a situation so you seem like you are part of it or watching it happen is amazing. I 10/10 recommend this book/series. It is a great story with amazing and inspiring characters.

My Bookish Thoughts:
I feel like this is the moment to freak out. As many of you know, Sarah J. Maas is coming out with a new book May 2015, and it is the definition of awesome. Sadly, I don’t have the ARC… which makes me want to cry, but I digress. I am about to tell you guys how awesome those first four chapters are.
She creates a really sad and lonely world for her protagonist Feyre (pronounced: Fay-ruh). She has two older sisters who rely on her to keep them fed and clothed, and she has a father who is lame (like physically lame). This puts the entirety of familial responsibility on Feyre.

First off, I applaud Sarah J. Maas for the astounding world-building. I was worried that I would get Throne of Glass and ACOTAR mixed up—especially with all the Fae stuff, but really there’s no way you can. The Fae mythology used in this book, is different than that of Throne of Glass, even the feel of the book is different to where it would be hard to mix up.

The only thing that reminded me that this was a Sarah J. Maas book (besides the fact that her writing is always superb) was how shadowed and complex the Feyre is. She reminded me a lot of Celaena, but not entirely personality wise. But like Celaena, Feyre is hard and weathered and her character and heart has been calloused by past experiences.

I really can’t wait to read this book in its entirety. I actually was very frustrated when I finished the final chapter in the free sampler. Because it left off on such an awesome yet KILLER cliffhanger.

I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of this book!

*The ARC was provided to me by the publisher/author in exchange for an honest review*

Where shall I begin... This is the first book I have read by Sarah Maas and quite honestly I read it 2 times and then went back again to place post it notes on my favorite parts of the book. My poor ARC is no longer pristine and I keep it with me for easy retrieval.

The world she created is beautifully cruel and exquisite. You can tell that Sarah Maas poured her heart into building a new world built from a childhood fairy tale with strong main characters. Her attention to detail is magnificent. I don't think I can't put into words the emotions that fluttered around my being while I read it. I was captivated.

Feyre loves her family, provides for them because she has a sense of duty. But her DUTY causes her to be taken away to a land of legends by a Beast. She made a promise to her mother to take care of her family, so she needs a way back! The one thing that stops her is Tamlin. (Sigh ~ Tamlin)

Fans of Melissa Marrs Wicked Lively series and Richelle Meads Storm Born Series will fall head over sword in love with this book. You will ADORE this book, with all the blood, gore, and no excuses. BUT the brutality was just as beautiful as the reason for it.

No emotion for me was left unturned. It touched me in every bone in my body. My eyes tired, my heart sore from aching and my mind enthralled by Sarah J Maas's word play. I was burdened with piling dishes and a mountain of laundry when I finished but I didn't care. Those were the best 2 days I spent reading!!

I will be reading more from this talented author! She officially has sealed her fate as an author I fangirl over!!

Oh my god!!! This eSampler was amazing.
It started off as a reminiscent story to Katniss but you can tell it'll develop into a greater story. I like how complex and strong the characters are right from the beginning, which is something I really enjoy in books because you get to know them and relate to them which makes my reading experience much more enjoyable.

These four chapters are enough to draw you in and convinces you that this series is going to be amazing!!! (Is it going to be a series? I don't know but I do hope so, lol) I love how it leaves you wanting more!!! I can't wait to read the whole thing!!!

This is my first taste of Sarah J. Maas’s wonderful writing and I must say that I will definitely be enjoying her stories. I already purchased Throne of Glass and look forward to finishing the series. I usually read kindle editions of book, I do have a shelf in my room but it’s reserved for hardcover versions of books I love and have beautiful cover art. I can see many books by Sarah J. Maas fitting in my bookshelf perfectly, making my room more beautiful!

You can't go wrong with Sarah J. Maas. Her stories are wonderful. She masterfully weaves her tales from book to book. Things that are important in the first book reappear as something pivotal in a later story even if the reader forgot about it.

This book is the beginning of her new series and it is absolutely wonderful. The realm she weaves is full of magic, danger, and adventure. The protagonist is a strong lead who learns to adapt to the world of fae as the book goes on. She is, by no means, a Mary sue however. She has her faults and insecurities and it is fun to watch her grow. I can't wait to see how thing may or may not resolve in the next book.
