Angelo Gino Levis.

5.0 su 5 stelle Old Roots -- Promising New Medical Science 31 gennaio 2015
Di Joseph G. Wick - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
In the 1960s Robert O. Becker was a prominent orthopedic surgeon and researcher in electrophysiology. He pioneered using electromagnetic energy at various frequencies for pain relief and to help broken bones knit better. In the 1980s he wrote several books, such as "The Body Electric," summarizing his research as well as that of others. Those interested in the field might notice that he was heavily influenced by a Yale professor of the 1930s, Dr. Harold Saxton-Burr who wrote "The Fields of Life."

In 1990 he published this book outlining possible avenues for using electromagnetic means to enhance healing. However, the book also is a wake-up call regarding the sea of electromagnetic radiation we live in. He focuses on the un-natural fields and their potential interference with the natural fields we evolved in. The un-natural sources are radio, TV, WiFi, microwaves, cell phones, appliances and a host of other sources. The problem, he claims, is a lack of good research on this radiation which is non-ionizing. We all hear of the dangers of ionizing radiation, for instance from radioactive materials and X-rays (for political as well as scientific reasons), but do not hear much of those electromagnetic fields which have biological effects, because their mechanisms are not well understood.

One might feel that this is fringe science, so imagine my surprise in early 2015 to hear news articles regarding well researched studies showing hazardous effects on infants and toddlers from exposure to WiFi. This was basically pointed out by Dr. Becker 30-40 years ago. This just goes to show that what is old becomes new fairly often. It also shows that there is something wrong with a system that takes 30-40 years to take a new look at old research. Dr. Becker also cites some interesting studies and has some thoughts on the relationship of this electromagnetic sea to cancer. Much of it is very convincing.

Being an optimist at heart, I think many readers will concentrate on the healing possibilities of electromagnetic techniques. We already are starting to use such techniques as transcranial magnetic stimulation on depression patients. You can see the possibilities in some of Becker's observations. Who knows, someday we might have "healing sarcophagi" like those featured in the movie Star Gate.

It may be that research is inhibited by the difficulty of making a profit for the medical complex. It would seem more profitable to make a drug, even if only partly effective. Also, as to the dangers of the unnatural electomagnetic sea we've created, I don't really see much solution. No one is going to turn off radio, TV, WiFi and power lines; and, few want to spend their lives in a Faraday Cage in some cave.

That said, I have to say this is an intriguing look at a field too often overlooked. The field is long in the tooth, but young enough to contribute to our welfare. My criticism is that Dr. Becker has covered too much in just one book. The positive opportunities seem overwhelmed by the negative position we are in with scant solution. Nevertheless, if you find this field fascinating, this book is for you. Five Stars.

3.0 su 5 stelle Useful, but could have been more 3 febbraio 2014
Di Scott H. Irving - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina rigida Acquisto verificato
I chose this over other books, because of Becker's much earlier book, The Body Electric. There is nearly 20 years between the 2 books. Becker covers many important details to consider in Electric "medicine." But honestly, I know of far better reports on the subject. I felt like he was holding back, if not ignoring the best of the subject and advances made. He often makes clear in both his books, how important funding is and precarious it tends to be to get funding for any study, despite the advantages a study might offer or reveal. A much better book revealing more about electro-medicine and related info/potential, I recommend Dr. Hulda Clark and Daniel Haley's super work, "The Politics of Healing." Becker is featured in that book, as well. Much of this book by Becker also seems like a repeat of his previous book, Body Electric. I just get the feeling that I might have been better off with other more recent books and findings. This book was published in the early 90s, if not 1990. Its been over 20 years since then. Kind of old, now. Becker revealed much to us over the years, but I do believe there is better stuff out there, now. Its not a bad book, but could have been more and should have been more, even for 1990. Rife "tech" has been around since the 1930's. It should have been addressed.

5.0 su 5 stelle A very important book 7 ottobre 2010
Di C.O. - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
This book is one of the most important books I have read, I agree the cover makes it look a little sensationalist but the book isn't it's very much based on facts, scientific proof, and the many studies that have been conducted. I thought this book would be dated since it was written in 1990 and on a few parts it is but I've read almost every book on EMF's and this book is actually the basis on which most the other books get most of their facts, this book is the best book and most comprehensive on understanding EMFs out there IMO. Only downside is the book can get a little technical on some parts but for the most part a regular person will understand it. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and especially doctors (this is the key to the so many "whys" and "hows" in medicine we are unable to solve) , IMO this book should be taught in medical school.

5.0 su 5 stelle Excellent Book! 9 febbraio 2013
Di Steven Magee - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
After choosing a career working with electricity, electronics, and computers, I found that in my thirties my health ran down to the point of being put on prescription medication. None of the doctors could tell my why this occurred and they told me that it was a "normal aspect of aging", everyone is the same! I now know that I had a form of radiation sickness that was caused by exposure to the equipment that I was working with, the products that were in my home, and too much sunlight exposure (the Sun is a nuclear reactor!). This is an excellent book that confirmed my own personal findings. Today I have good health that I thought was impossible to achieve a few years ago. Other books that I can also recommend are "Electromagnetic Fields" by B. Blake Levitt and "Health and Light" by Dr. John Nash Ott.

5.0 su 5 stelle This book will tell you about how we are being increasingly exposed to harmful ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELD ENERGYS 16 luglio 2014
Di M. Royers - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
This book is full of HARD facts, studies and research that tells us that there're concerns in our world that you can to some extent protect yourself from.
Concern for ELECTROMAGNETIC FIELDS is something that is slowly fading into the public awareness, Because the military: DARPA etc. are involved, the information about this is suppressed along with the invisibility of these energies without technical equipment.

The deficiency I find in this book, ESPECIALLY from a Medical doctor is there is nothing said about how we can protect ourselves from these damaging EMF's
