Sinossi

"Hot and heartbreaking, sweet and sexy.... You cannot...CANNOT miss this incredible conclusion!." M. Leighton, NYT Bestselling Author

The danger in pretending is it becoming real...

Sebastian Stone, Sunder front man and guitarist with a rap sheet about ten miles long, escaped to Savannah, Georgia, to get away from the trouble he’d caused.

Not find more of it.

The moment he saw Shea Bentley, he saw beneath all her sweet and innocence to something that went deeper.

Darker.

Their relationship was built on secrets; their love built on lies.

Sebastian never imagined how deep her secrets went.

When the past and present collide, Sebastian and Shea find themselves fighting for a future neither believed they deserved. Their passion is consuming and their need unending.

Now, holding the truth in his hands, Sebastian is faced with sacrificing everything he’s come to love to protect Shea and his family.

Two pasts intertwined.

Two lives bound.

Will their demons drown them or will Shea and Sebastian finally learn to breathe?

"Shea and Sebastian's story is simply beautiful, and impossible not to love." Mia Sheridan, NYT Bestselling Author

Drowning to Breathe is the stunning conclusion to Shea and Sebastian's 2-part Duet! Their story began in A Stone in the Sea.

5.0 su 5 stelle Baz is back with a conclusion that will capture your heart! 15 settembre 2015

The way A.L. Jackson writes, you just can't help but be completely consumed by the utter beauty her words convey. With each new book, I am swept away, held captive by a story that evokes such strong emotion, I'm often left breathless. And with Drowning to Breathe, I was happily lost in the brilliant love story of Shea and Sebastian and I still don't want to be found.

Part Two of the Bleeding Hearts duet, picks up right where we left off in A Stone in the Sea. With their worlds shattered, both Shea and Sebastian have to once again dig deep and decide if long held secrets on top of cruel outside forces, will be the reason they just don't make it. If the love they share, the mutual admiration and the passion, is enough to keep them together. It is a journey that had my heart a literal mess most of the time. Yet the bursts of happiness, the complete joy and the outward affection Shea and Sebastian have for each other as well as for Kallie, kept my heart beating.

What is so wonderful is that the secondary characters were as much an important part of this story as our couple. They all showed that the true meaning of family can have absolutely nothing to do with having to be the same flesh and blood. Their bond was as solid and caring as any 'conventional' clan. They made me laugh, cry, hold my breath and swoon more than once. I was drawn to each and every one of them and wanted to be a part of their crew as well. THAT is what great writing will do. Make you want to be one of the gang.

That glimmer of hope that sometimes eludes us, that one moment where we might just get it all right, is the epitome of Drowning to Breathe. You go through this difficult journey with both Shea and Sebastian, getting a front-row seat to their missteps, their stumbles and want to be there when there is some sort of resolution, whether good or bad, knowing that it was all worth it. And even though there is no guarantee that they will ultimately make it out of the darkness that threatens them at every turn, just being able to witness this glorious love is oh so worth it.

It is likely to go down as one of my top reads of this year. A book that gripped me from the very start and warmed my soul like only this author can. I look forward to reading about the rest of the Sunder boys and their grand pursuit of happiness as well. This is one not to be missed. **But remember you must read A Stone in the Sea first to get the entire story.

A huge 5++++ stars.

I have been waiting for Drowning to Breathe to hit my kindle ever since I swept the very last page of A Stone In The Sea. I knew then I had read a very special book and couldn’t wait to see what the conclusion held.

Many of us have that sweet spot for that bad boy rocker, you know you want to be the one who can tame him and show him all that is good and right in the world. And really who doesn’t love to read all that sexiness that goes with the dirty rock and roll god. OOH OOH OOH and throw in some down and dirty secrets to make things even more interesting — story gold right? And don’t forget undeniable passion that scorches off the pages! But really you got all that from reading that delicious synopsis right? Makes you want to pick up the book and take a gander… well that and then you take one look at the cover and your like… ummm SOLD!

But just wait until you start reading the book. THIS is not your run of the mill rocker boy story. This is so much more. Drowning to Breathe was absolutely AMAZING! It was a pleasure and honor to read this book. I read a lot of books but I just love getting books that I honestly can NOT put down! And even better are ones that so clearly stand out from all the rest, are unique and stand apart from the pack! I devoured it!

The writing was so poetic and lyrical. Which fit in perfectly with the whole musical, nautical and stormy theme of the book. It was truly unique and I really appreciated the freshness of it. The tempo and the writing was just absolute perfection. I just never wanted it to end.

And the characters – ahhh, I can’t wait for another installment so we can visit them again! Everyone has such individual personalities and lends such a distinct and welcome voice to the story.

Run don’t walk your one-click finger right now to this baby! And if you haven’t read A Stone in the Sea yet, get on that peeps! I promise you, you will be thanking me!!!

I received a complimentary copy of Drowning to Breathe in exchange for my honest review.

3.0 su 5 stelle The End. 11 aprile 2017

Normally I pay better attention but this time, I had a series sneak past me. I accidentally read "Stay" before starting at the beginning of the "Bleeding Star"s series. Yes, yes I know it's a "standalone" but most hardcore romance readers know it's better to read the books in a series in order. I kept telling myself -while reading Stay- these HAVE to be existing characters! Quick check and yep, they were. Dang-it! So once I finished Stay, I popped over and bought the rest of the series. I loved Stay and I was positive I'd love the stories that came before it. End result? 1&2 were tolerable. I HATED #3 and 4 & 5 were perfect. Hopefully #6 is as well.

The "Bleeding Stars" is very VERY long (especially this one/duet). Scenes, feelings and internal thoughts were drawn

out and almost got boring. I love A.L. Jackson's poetic style but it was a bit too much at times.

****Teeny Tiny Spoilers Ahead***

This book, A Stone in the Sea, was the first and where we're introduced to the group. I loved the guys (though the universe would be a better place without Lyrik, see book 3). I couldn't wait to read their stories. Baz was a great guy and Shea was just so super sweet. Usually single-parent heroines and heroes can be sort of annoying. My theory on this is that the author wants to you to know without a shadow of a doubt that the parent is a great parent. The end result is just beating a dead horse though. Yes. It is possible to date, have a life and be a good parent. It's really tiring to read the parent constantly rebuff the romantic interest because they don't want their child to get to know a person in their life who may not be around for long blah blah OK we GET IT! Sooooo many excuses. Shea, though? Shea was a perfect balance. She was very cautious but didn't annoy you to the point of frustration about proving she's a good mom.

Did this need to be two books? God no. But it was *sigh* so yeah, you've got a looooooong
long

long
road ahead of you if you're going to dive into this story. Here's the run down if you're still not certain:

1.) Cheating? Nope! Yay!
2.) Cliffhanger? Not this one, this is the conclusion *whew*
3.) HEA? Yep. Very :)
4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? Nah.
6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? Pretty decent balance, enough to keep you interested but not so much that you're over hearing about Baz' epic D. Hot but not weird-kinky or taboo. No one's banging their step-dad or twin ranchers etc.
7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? It depend on the reader. I wont be out shooting this book's praises but if you're already here, read the blurb and dig my feedback then yeah, crack it open.

3.0 su 5 stelle Too Similar to the First Book 6 aprile 2016
Di Jessica McKelden Cave - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

In preparation for this book, I reread the Shea and Sebastian's first book. I wanted to have their story fresh in my memory. I'm glad I did because this book starts just about instantly after the first. It feels like a continuation, not like a completely separate book. That being said, it probably could have been all combined into one slightly longer book.

My chief complaint with this book was that it was a lot more of the same. There was tons of exposition talking about how much Shea and Sebastian loved and needed each other... and it was a lot of repetition. I got it the first hundred times in the first book, I didn't need it another hundred in the second.

There is no big conflict here, at least as far as their relationship goes. This was actually pretty refreshing, because once it's established that the couple is permanent, there's nothing more annoying than something tearing them apart just because the author wants some conflict. The plot, however, does get a bit sticky. Reading this book is worth it simply to finish out the storyline between Shea and Sebastian and all the drama that surrounds them. I just wish it had wrapped up in the first one.
