Aggiornerò la recensione man mano.

Positives:
Heart rate monitor
Excellent sleep tracker
Built in alarm
Intelligent exercise tracking
Reminders to move
Imports texts
Let’s you know when your mobile is ringing
Great software
Built in altimeter
Nice looking
Negatives:
Not waterproof
You have to take it off and charge it up
Uncomfortable at first where heart rate monitor bit digs in
Strap is rubbery and not very comfortable
Alarm is not very subtle in my opinion and I dislike the noise
Overall, I do think it’s great, I only found it a bit uncomfortable at first and just got a new strap which solved the issue for me. If you want all of this functionality then it is worth getting one, but if you really just need a tracker to get you moving more you can get a cheaper one with less features that will do the job just as well. I really like the sleep analysis you get with this, and the software has diet, weight loss and water intake features if you want to track that.
You can access info on the screen by pressing the side button or tapping the screen which is very responsive. If you just want to see the time you lift your arm and rotate towards you, and the time comes up along with whatever screen preferences you have set up. This movement takes a bit of getting used to and at first may be a little stilted and look like you are ostentatiously checking the time but becomes more natural with practice. All in all this is a great item with excellent functionality. Tracks exercise really well.
Well, the Charge 2 has been my constant companion for 3 years now. Ownership has been a positive experience overall, but it's not perfect. I understand Google bought out FitBit since I bought my Charge 2, and with Google came added features to the app at additional cost.
Unfortunately, the accuracy of the Charge 2 is not great. You can get a lot of steps from washing up for example, which is handy if you're a step obsessive, but a bit misleading if you want accurate step recording. Heart measurement seems pretty good, but exercise tracking can be erratic. Even if I manually set the mode to Running or Cycling to track my running or cycling, sometimes the FitBit decides that I was actually doing something else, regardless of what I told it I was doing, and the data it should be processing would tell it.
Sleep monitoring is hit and miss, and the lack of waterproofing is annoying. Battery life has remained pretty reasonable, though. And despite being stuck on my arm for the last three years, it's still working. Which is a bit of a surprise, TBH.
Buying a FitBit is not something to do if you want accurate metrics. Buying a FitBit is part of a change in lifestyle that will help you get more active. It's been a bit of a love/hate relationship, but it's helped to make me more active, and therefore fitter and healthier. Which is why I bought it.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
The Charge 2 is a wonderful upgrade to the Charge HR from FitBit. The two main bugbears of the Charge HR: the nasty strap that bubbled up and couldn’t be neatly repaired, and the teeny screen than was hard to see in bright conditions have been replaced by interchangeable straps (just like on the Alta) and a big bright OLED screen. The Charge 2 looks and feels somewhat a gent’s version of the rather feminine Alta (I am upgrading from an Alta). I love the interchangeable straps and swapped the plastic on it came with for a leather strap with stainless steel shoulders. However the Charge 2 is a big step up from the Charge, when coupled with recent improvements to the FitBit app.
If you’re used to the Charge or the Alta, the Charge 2 is quite a step-up. A tap or a press of the side button wakes up the screen, as does the familiar lift and twist arm action to look at your watch. (Note, at night, moving in bed can wake up the display which can give off quite a bright and possibly disturbing light, so bear in mind the lift and twist activation can be disabled in the app options.) The new OLED display is about 4 times larger than the old, and is clearly visible outdoors, though as to be expected, it struggles a little in direct sunlight. There are a variety of options you can select for the information displayed on the first screen, so there’s bound to be one that meets your needs. Repeated taps on the bottom shoulder of the Charge 2 cycle the display through your steps, heart-rate, distance travelled, calories burned, stairs climbed, active minutes, and the number of active hours.
Now the clever stuff! Repeated presses of the side button take you through the exercise/fitness options. First is the hear-rate, which tells you your current heart rate. A tap to the shoulder changes the display to your resting heart rate, with another tap cycling back to current heart rate. Next press of the button brings up “Run” which is the first of the exercises. Taps to the shoulder cycle through the various exercise options which are: Run, Weights, Treadmill, Workout, Elliptical, Bike, and Interval Workout. When the exercise of your choice appears, press and hold the side button to start, and the Charge 2 will log your activity, in conjunction with the GPS in your phone. When you finish, another long press of the button and between your phone and the Charge 2, you get a full log of your workout.
For example, for a run you will get a time and date of your start, a map of your route, the distance run, the time take, your pace, any splits in the run, a graph of your heart-rate during the run, including time spent in each of the three heart-rate zones (fat-burn, cardio and peak), calories burned, the impact of the run on your daily exercise stats, and a chart of recent runs. Similar information is available for other exercises. So much about the Charge 2 reeks of smart and intuitive. In fact the Charge 2 is so clever, if you get your Nordic Walking just so, it will even automatically detect it as Elliptical exercise.
Recent updates to the app give additional information for tracking your sleep. Replacing Awake, Restless and Asleep, are Awake, REM, Light and Deep sleep. I’m not sure how accurate this new data is, but it’s an interesting development. The ability to track your fluid intake and calorie intake is also available, as is the ability to track your weight loss, but as these options require regular entry of data into the app, and I am too lazy and disorganised to bother, I don’t use these features.
To conclude, the Charge 2 is a huge improvement on the budget FitBits and if you have a Charge or an Alta, it’s absolutely worth upgrading to.
Positive:
- It does encourage you to move more. The hourly prompts and daily targets become quite addictive as you challenge yourself to improve your previous daily achievements. Consequently it won't disappoint if you are looking to improve your general fitness.
- The 'relax' function is impressive. I was a bit cynical of this feature prior to using it, thinking it was potentially an after thought to improving the fitbit. However, as a naturally stressy person, I've found using this breathing technique helps calm me and has reduced anxiety.
- The heart rate monitor is fantastic, based upon your personal stats, when exercising it measures if you're within the far burning , cardio or Peak Zone and hence indicates how much further you can push yourself if necessary. This has made my workouts more intense and effective.
- It's comfortable to wear. The device doesn't stand up from the wrist that much, the strap doesn't rub and I've had no reaction to the nickle buckle.
- The foot count is fairly accurate. My Partner and I completed a 6 hour long walk and compared results. There was only a 100 step difference between his apple watch and my Fitbit.
- This Fitbit can charge within an hour so it's quick and convenient if you find the battery is running low.
- The sleep tracker seems fairly accurate and offers a great insight into how many times you were restless during the night. I have found that tired mornings do coincide with the more restless nights, knowing how many hours sleep I've had is interesting information.
- I often have my phone on silence so the fact my fitbit vibrates when I receive a call or text is incredibly useful.
Negatives:
- The screen can be pretty unresponsive. At times you have to quite forcefully tab the screen before the display lights up. Also the screen is meant to light up when your wrist is twisted towards you, as though you're checking the time. Again this only happens 50% of the time. This flaw with the item can be quite frustrating when trying to check your progress mid-exercise.
- The band is quite masculine. The combination of the rubber strap and wide buckle isn't the prettiest for women. It's a shame the leather straps cost £60 otherwise I would consider purchasing one of these!
- The fact it's not waterproof and hence can't be used to capture swimming exercises is a bit of a mystery. If another Fitbit can offer this, I'm not sure I understand why this couldn't have been incorporated into the charge 2's features. If you swim regularly and would want this to count towards daily calories etc, I'd give serious consideration as to whether this is the correct Fitbit for you.
- I ordered the Navy band based on it's online appearance but in reality its a brighter blue than I would have liked.
- The app has a food tracking feature which is a good way to monitor food consumption, at least it would be if it recognised most foods & brands. I've used the 'Myfitmess pal' app previously and unfortunately Fitbit doesn't compare. Last night it took me 20 mins to add my food into the app due to the lack of foods recognised. I thought I would use the scanning feature to scan barcodes on packaging to prompt recognition but even this doesn't work. I feel that Fitbit really should have worked on improving this, as at the moment the only way I can track my meals is to use the 'customise' option within the app making the process timely and frustrating.
- This Fitbit claims to have a 5 day battery life, however I have needed to charge mine 3 times within the last 8 days already. This may be as I'm actively checking my progress several times a day, but then I would have thought Fitbit would have expected people to do this!
- Not great if you like to use an exercise bike. I did an hour on my exercise bike and this completely confused the Fitbit due to being stationary. As a result, the calories I burnt were far less according to my fitbit than my exercise bike. Frustratingly, you're not able to amend an exercise captured within the app to adjust this and hence improve accuracy.
Overview- If you're looking for a daily fitness tracker which will encourage you to move and capture fairly accurate results, then this Fitbit could work for you. However if you're an avid swimmer or someone who likes to accurately capture every calorie then perhaps consider an alternative fitbit or another brand.
I started with the Charge HR at the beginning of this year, it was a nice little tracker, it did however develop a fault and detatch from the strap. FitBit support was very efficient and offered to replace the item for me but instead I returned it to the original retailer (QVC) for a full refund then added the difference to buy the Charge 2.
For me this is a much better choice. I have had this for a few weeks now, and have found it perfect for my needs. The heart rate tracker is extremely accurate at any point when I have physically counted my own pulse and then compared. I cannot comment on whether it's accuracy extends to heavy exercise as when I am at the gym I do not keep stopping to check; also I have no other to compare it with but I see no reason why it should be any different to when checking it after or before exercise.
Since initially writing the review I have now made an observation, the positioning of your Charge 2 might make all the difference. Whilst on an exercise bike with an HR monitor through a 10 minute cycle ranging 120 to 150 BPM I noticed that my FitBit was not quite flat on the top of my wrist (i.e not sitting centrally). When I re-positioned it so it was flat, the readings over the remaining 9 minutes were consistently accurate between the fitbit, the bike and manually checking my own pulse. Try it for yourself, maybe just tighten it up one notch to keep it in the right place.
A missing feature for me on the old HR was reminders to move; you can set your Charge 2 to remind you if you have not done 250 steps within an hour during a number of hours that you choose EG 9am to 5pm. 10 minutes before the hour it will vibrate to inform you you haven't achieved the goal, for me this results in me getting out of my office chair and running round the house (or garden) like a loon until within a few minutes it vibrates again to tell me "Stepped and Scored" or some other pre-programmed message.
GPS was another missing feature from the Charge HR and the Charge 2 has this in the form of connected GPS. This means that you start the app on your phone, tell it whether you are going for a walk, hike, or run and then keep your phone with you; most of us do anyway so it's no problem. It tracks your journey via google maps within the app and reports duration, distance and pace; you can pause it too if you are stopping mid journey for a coffee or something.
Physically it's not much bigger than the old HR, the display however is much nicer, you can tap the screen to cycle through floors heart rate etc, and to see how many of your hour's 250 steps you've done ... good for working out how much running or walking you need to do in the last 10 minutes!
The new choice of coloured and exchangeable straps is good as is the charging cradle as this is all together more secure. I have never had a problem aligning it within the cradle. I don't use it for sleep tracking, but I used to use the old HR for it and it was pretty accurate, this will be no different although it will say you were asleep if sitting still for long periods watching TV etc.
The app is good and visually pleasing, I love the ability to add your foods and monitor your calories as it does keep you on track more with your intake.
I use it for the gym and walking mainly, and for that it does the job. I feel it is a little weak on cycling and I would like to see that added to the selection for the connected GPS so you could track pace, duration and distance if not steps. It will auto detect cycling, but not until you have done it for 10 minutes or more, for me this is a nuisance because often I do fast cycles on my bike of less than 10 minutes which it won't track.
All in all I would highly recommend this, Is it 100% accurate, probably not, so if you want that then don't buy a tracker as I expect none of them are. If, like me, your primary goal is fitness and weight control, then you will love it, it encourages you to move more and will make you walk places instead of taking the car as you will want to meet your daily goals.
