This is the only biography (that I know of) about Frank Tashlin. Tashlin was known for his cinematic style, rapid cutting, and odd camera angles in his cartoons.
Frank Tashlin did a variety of different things in the media and worked for many different studios. He was an animator, comic strip artist, director (of cartoons and live action films), gag man/story man, wrote a few children's books, and wrote a few plays. A little known fact is that he wrote the story for Mickey and the Beanstalk (or at least the basic continuity for it), but was denied screen credit.
There are many interesting essays, primary documents, photographs, drawings, sketches, and interviews about one of the most interesting animation/live action directors. There's also an overview of his life and career and a complete filmography of the films he directed and had involvement with. There are some interesting tidbits that aren't mentioned anywhere else.
Highly recommended, for those wanting to look more into the history of film and animation.
