Il film di per sé è un capolavoro, dovrebbe essere visto da chiunque, soprattutto se si interessa di cinema! L'edizione l'ho trovata molto curata, ci sono i due doppiaggi italiani e anche degli axtra che non fanno male, inoltre è presente un libricino che racconta in modo sintetico i personaggi e le ispirazioni che hanno portato alla realizzazione della pellicola.
Senza dubbio da avere !

Il film è proprio bello ma in bluray non vale la pena

Ho trovato questa occasione ed ho pensato di coglierla perché il prezzo era proprio basso. Tuttavia la qualità video del film di animazione non è sensibilmente migliore rispetto al DVD. Credo di poter dire che non vedo cambiamenti. Ho notato che si è obbligati a vedere diverse promo di altri film di animazione, non appena inserito il disco nel lettore e prima di arrivare al menù del film ma forse se tratta di un'anomalia relativa al mio lettore.

Prima versione del capolavoro cyberpunk di Oshii, arricchita da un nuovo doppiaggio ma grazie al cielo priva delle scene in CGI della versione 2.0.
Audio ottimo sebbene non 5.1 ma video non proprio all'altezza del formato.
Da avere!!!

Perla dell'animazione giapponese e del genere Cyberpunk; questa versione è la riproposizione dell'originale con doppiaggio italiano nuovo e presenta anche l'originale giapponese sottotilato, non è la versione 2.0 quindi non ci sono scene ricreate in computer grafica.

Il film è un capolavoro assoluto della fantascienza. Più passa il tempo più appare moderno. Davvero interessante anche il nuovo doppiaggio e la possibilità di scegliere comunque anche il vecchio. Servizio Amazon Prime perfetto. Velocità ed affidabilità.

Ghost in the Shell è IL capolavoro cyberpunk per eccellenza, e sono molti gli elementi che lo rendono tale: la trama lineare di Kazunori Ito, la regia impeccabile di Mamoru Oshii, le soundtrack memorabili di Kenji Kawai, e soprattutto la straordinaria ricchezza di temi, con riflessioni che toccano l'esistenzialismo. Le riflessioni dei personaggi incantano e, mentre la trama procede, a tratti incalzante, non mancheranno le occasioni per gustarsi veri colpi di scena.

Audio e video buoni per un DVD, un po' meno per un bluray. Il prodotto è fornito sia del doppiaggio storico, sia di un nuovo doppiaggio realizzato da dynit per l'occasione. Extra: assenti. Spedizione Amazon: ottima

5 Stelle Obbligatorie per il capolavoro di Mamoru Oshii, versione originale priva dell'inutile computer grafica implementata in Ghost in the Shell 2.0, la versione 1995 risulta un vero cult per gli amanti degli anime cyberpunk, contiene sia il doppiaggio storico italiano che quello moderno. Consigliatissimo per chi ama il genere e vuole un pezzo da collezione della videoteca.

Spedizione veloce e contenuto ottimo.
Questo è l'originale Ghost in the shell del 1995 e non quella sottospecie di revisione della 2.0 che era pessima, nel disco è presente oltre al doppiaggio di quell'anno anche un nuovo doppiaggio realizzato apposta per questa versione.
Purtroppo nonostante sia un Blu Ray la qualità video non è ottima si tratta praticamente di un porting ad una risoluzione diversa ma senza una grande pulizia video, invece l'audio è un ottimo DTS-2.0 come la versione giapponese

Took me years, but I loved it!

Anime is something I have always been passive on. I've never been a fan of that computer generated cuteness that passes for the genre now. The darker hand drawn stuff of old is what has always attracted me to the genre. Despite this, I have unintentionally managed to avoid Ghost in the Shell all my life and it's a decision I have quickly come to regret.

For those not in the know, Ghost in the Shell is a cyberpunk anime movie from 1995. The movie was directed by Mamoru Oshii and features a screen play written by Kazunori Ito. The concept is based on the manga of the same name. The film follows the cyborg Major Motoko Kusanagi as she tries to track down a mysterious hacker, simply known as Puppet Master. It's a classic cel animated production with a few CGI animated scenes sprinkled in for good measure.

As a film, I found Ghost in the Shell to be a slow but mesmerising movie. It's a fairly simple movie on the surface. But when you look a little deeper, you'll find an interesting philosophical theme on self identity sitting just far enough for it to go unnoticed. It's a nice subtle layer that some people will miss. I personally thought it brought a nice bit of maturity to the movie and worked well with the main plot.

It's only eighty two minutes long, which made it a very easy watch. Personally, I would have loved to have seen the film get drawn out a little longer. Just enough to get more back story on the characters, the world they live in and see how this Puppet Master came to be. But as it is, it's a very easy movie to watch. It's paced very quickly and doesn't feel over an hour in length. This is of course helped by the beautiful animation and haunting soundtrack. It makes for one big memorable experience.

The quality of this bluray is quite on point. The colours are strong, the image is very clear and there is very little dirt or anomalies through out the running time. I wouldn't hesitate to say that it's the best it's going to look, without upgrading to the apparently impressive 4k disc that is. It was certainly an absolute bargain for the five pounds that I paid and I can easily see myself coming back to it a lot.

Most people by now know of Ghost in the Shell. It has came from being a flop, to a cult classic and is now one of the most highly regarded anime films ever. If you're like me and have never seen it, I do highly recommend it. It's quite an interesting experience and one that is well worth having.

When it comes to anime my knowledge and general interest in the genre is low, however I very much enjoyed the Castlevania Netflix series and have wanted to watch the critically acclaimed movies e.g. this, Akira & Perfect Blue. for a while. Ghost In The Shell is arguably the most well known of these and follows a cyborg policewoman and her partner, as they hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called The Puppet Master.

Honestly after watching Ghost In The Shell I was substantially disappointed and during the film I was mostly bored. There is no denying that from a visual and thematic standpoint the film is definitely ahead of its time (having released in 1995) and clearly was a heavy inspiration on The Matrix and several other sci-fi films released later. However the plot itself really plods along and the poor pacing makes the short 82 minute runtime really drag. There are long sequences of dialogue and exposition with names, locations and terminology specific to the world that is difficult to keep track of and a few ‘interlude’ moments which are there to build atmosphere but really just feel like filler.

The animation is excellent and better than most current TV & film 2D animation today, the city buildings look great, the futuristic design of the gear and characters is impressive and there is some visceral blood and gore at times. However that is far and few between due to there really only being about three action sequences, none of which are especially thrilling or uniquely choreographed. The sound design for the shootouts is top-notch as our the other effects e.g. glass shattering, car tires screeching etc. and the score is very atmospheric throughout, but does become repetitive at times.

Character-wise no one really is too engaging or that memorable aside from Major & Batou. The Puppet Master lacks any real presence in the plot or menace. The voice acting is fine throughout, however there are some awkward pauses and dialogue transitions at times.

Ghost In The Shell truly has a timeless and unique animation style and for the time unique themes and ideas. However the confusing, convoluted and dull pacing of the plot, lack of thrilling and truly memorable action and engaging characters really do let this down. Also I know I am in the minority here and it’s basically a crime to say it but I much prefer the 2017 live action adaptation.

I was mainly disappointed by the new live action version of ghost in the shell which looked great but just seemed a bland android movie plot-wise. I wish I had seen this first, as it is one can't help noticing the similarities and differences. Also after hearing all the great things people said about it (althouh they may have been refering to the whole anime ouvre of ghost in the shell rather than just this film) - I expected more.

It was better and more interesting and substantial than the live action film but not enough to completely blow me away or make a travesty of the live action one.

Anime and cyberpunk classic now on Blu-Ray

Ghost in the Shell is a brilliant film adaptation of Masamune Shirow's manga of the same name. It provides a compelling view of the future. The film handles the future carefully layering on future elements over older architecture. The Blu-Ray conversion brilliantly captures these details which adds to the already brilliant story.

Yes its not the horrible live action one

Blue ray case looks really good and artwork. If you like complex movies and I mean really complex you will like this. Besides it being a masterpiece you should watch anyway. And don't bother with the terrible live action. Cyberpunk future movie with robots. Motoko who is part of section 9. Her and the team are tasked in stopping the pupput master. Creepy villain in a creepy movie. I would recommend this then the second movie. Than the TV series stand alone complex which is part of a different timeline.
