WOW...this book was overwhelming to me! I just couldn’t get into reading the whole thing. It’s too detailed for what I was looking for. I mainly wanted to find out some simple information, but was blasted with so many complicated diseases I had no time to look up definitions for. I’m sure gluten is this complicated for lots of people. But my problems seem far less intense. It just wasn’t the book I thought I was getting. It’s way too over-my-head!!

This book confirmed my suspicions that I am wheat intolerant. The author addresses my questions as she and her family have this problem. I also sent this book to my daughter, who is a nurse. I had to ask her to explain some of the terminology as I was too lazy to look it up. This is a must for anyone experiencing wheat intolerance or celiac.

Overall, I learned quite a bit about gluten and its affects. I think the author is a bit OCD about the possibilities of having even been near her food or preparation of it. That made it understandable when she became overly scientific. More regular talk would have helped me. I only got through less than half the book and started skimming after Chapter Three.

Gluten Toxicity is a terrific resource! Shelly has managed to very accurately address all of the current issues and misconceptions regarding celiac disease and gluten intolerance with well researched information. Shelly has much sought information on the paleolithic diet and why this should be considered. I look forward to referencing Gluten Toxicity with clients and offering Shelly's new book an excellent first resource.
