Sinossi

Where do you turn when you face the greatest storms of your life--when the circumstances are so grave there doesn't even appear to be a way out? God Answers Desperate Prayers explores the Bible for answers. What does the Bible promise to desperate seekers? What did Jesus teach his followers regarding prayer? How did God respond to desperate prayers throughout the Bible? How does He respond today?

God Answers Desperate Prayers seeks to answer these questions with examples from the prayers of David the King, and the careful teaching on prayer that Jesus shared with his disciples. The book explains terms like faith, hope, and patience by examining what these words meant to the first century Christians who wrote the New Testament.

The Bible makes very bold and specific promises of help to anyone who turns to God in prayer.

Anyone trapped in seemingly impossible straits should find much hope and comfort here.

HASH(0x90865f60) su 5 stelle Using God's Word to Explain God's Word - and Your Prayers to Him 30 maggio 2011
Di Tanya Dent - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Everybody prays at some point in their lives. For some who say they don't believe in God, it is often right before the point of death. they say, "There are no atheists in fox holes" and no doubt that is true. But often it is too late when the danger is only a split second away. The time to get our prayer life in order is long before the fox hole situation arises!

In this wonderful volume, Eric Parker explores the very nature of conversations with God. Here we learn what prayer really is and if it is even necessary. (It is.) He then goes into detail about how to pray, what to expect from our prayers, and about the patience we sometimes need after prayer and why it's so important.

This is NOT a preachy book, this book does NOT have fluff, this book is NOT a deep theological doctrinal volume... it is JUST RIGHT. It is Eric Parker talking right to his readers and as clearly as he writes, you truly can hear his voice as he explores the way God uses His voice to interact with you. If you find yourself asking why so many bad things occur to good people, it might be time to change the question and ask why we don't all get the destruction that we deserve. The answer is so obvious once you begin your prayer life. The Grace that God gives each and every one of us is ALL one-sided: Him to us. He wants you to talk to Him, He wants you to ask Him for things. God Answers Desperate Prayers is the key ESPECIALLY for the times when your prayers get amped up to desperation. God will be there to guide you in the bad times as well as the good. Just don't wait for the bad times to ask... he is ready right now!

HASH(0x9066be94) su 5 stelle Qbout prayer and you and God 31 maggio 2011
Di Nancy Salander - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Prayers that are desperate are perhaps the most frequently-offered prayers to God. How does God respond to them? How do you respond to God's response? Are prayers made out of desperation listened to less by God than those of thanksgiving and praise?

Using Scripture, the early church fathers, sound theology, and his own discernment, the author, Eric Parker, digs deep into these issues of prayer. (By the way, Eric makes it clear at the start that the first and foremost authority is Scripture, but that he uses the other resources to help him interpret God's Word as accurately as possible.)

He goes into explaining what prayer is - basically, it is nothing more than talking to God. You can of course "speak" silently as God will hear your prayer. If you make more of prayer, spiritualizing it too much, you risk losing some of the personal relationship between you and God that God desires so much.

I appreciated Eric's deep discussion on faith as it relates to prayer. This might become a classic volume on prayer.

Thank you. These are timeless and truthful words. Our circumstances are irrelevant. My hand is to the plow and I won't look back. Love you very much.
