Groucho Marx Private Eye
Years ago I met Ron Goulart at a comic book convention and he did a panel about his new book Grouch Marx, Master Detective. He even signed copies for everyone. I loved the book but somehow never was able to pick up any others in the series. Thanks to AMAZON and their ties to other book sellers, I am making up for that mistake. PRIVATE EYE pushes us right back into Hollywood and LA in the late ‘30s, side by side with Groucho and Frank Denby, the writer of his radio show. We read about some of the old places that made Hollywood great back then and even bump into some real people along the way. There has been a murder and the accused murderer is the mother of a cast member of the radio show. Can Groucho and Frank find the real killer as some police and Hollywood people try to interfere with their investigation? Of course but the added question is can Groucho and Frank keep us laughing along the way? Yes and yes, Goulart nails it again for this Marx fan. A fun story, with some character development along the way and it is not hard to image Groucho performing the routines he is given here. And Frank and his finance also share some laughs.

If only we could get a movie/tv show option on these with Frank Farrante as Groucho! Wish someone with money could kickstart that idea! The Covers of these volumes are also great, really evoking the works of a past master. Looking forward to volume 3 Elementary My Dear Groucho

Once again Groucho Marx is on the trail of a criminal. Actually, there's... well read it and see. Maybe a more solid mystery than the first one,

This is a fun little novel and a great start to a new series. Ron Goulart has captured the era perfectly, and has Groucho Marx *on* all the time, as most people probably would expect him to be. He also has managed to contrive a very servicable li'l mystery at the same time. Looking forward to the next volumes in this series!

For all of the people who love the Marx brothers will love this book because it's a close representation of the character.
