Premessa: amo Harry Potter in maniera viscerale, ma non sono mai stata la tipa che compra gadget o prende tutte le edizioni che sono state pubblicate...a me bastava avere la mia collezione versione classica, con copertina e traduzione storiche.
Da sempre, però, avevo il pallino di leggere HP in lingua originale, e non appena ho sentito della prossima uscita di questa edizione, ho subito deciso che sarebbe stata mia.

C'è stato qualche problema di percorso: pur avendolo preordinato un mese prima, il libro è risultato dal giorno di uscita non disponibile (che il numero dei preordini sia stato talmente alto da essere esaurito prima ancora della sua uscita?), quindi ho dovuto aspettare un po' più del dovuto per averlo.

Ma quando stamattina ha bussato il corriere...mi sono quasi sentita come 13 anni fa, quando presi il primo libro tra le mani per la primissima volta. Non pensavo che a 27 anni suonati avrei potuto rivivere le stesse emozioni di allora: ma questo splendido, elegante volume, è stato capace di operare questa magia.

Ho dato appena una prima lettura e una sfogliata veloce, ma sono rimasta già incantata da questa edizione, che credo sia la migliore pubblicata fino ad oggi; la qualità è altissima: la carta è spessa e lucida, e ci sono illustrazioni meravigliose - ma soprattutto fedeli - in ogni pagina...considerato che solitamente non leggo in inglese, l'ho trovato pure piuttosto semplice e scorrevole (o sarà perchè conosco le battute in italiano a memoria? xD).
Visto il prezzo nemmeno tanto eccessivo, credo davvero che questo volume sia immancabile nella collezione di un vero Potterhead.

Grazie Jim Kay per questo splendido lavoro, e grazie - come sempre - a JKRowling che ha creato questa magia capace di operare attraverso tutti questi anni.

Ero molto indecisa se prendere questa versione o quella di MinaLima che reputo comunque bellissima, ma alla fine ho deciso per questa e non sono per niente pentita, anzi. Il volume è ben fatto con illustrazioni fantastiche e realistiche ed è perfetto per chi, come me, ha già letto i libri in italiano e vuole cimentarsi con l'inglese. Assolutamente consigliato. La spedizione è arrivata in ritardo di un giorno, ma non è stato un problema. Prodotto arrivato senza segni di usura.

Libro arrivato nei tempi previsti in ottime condizioni ma la cui grandezza tende a rendere difficile mantenerlo nelle condizioni in cui lo si é ricevuto. Ho deciso di acquistarlo in inglese per assaporare a pieno lo stile della Rowling e devo dire che é tutta un'altra cosa leggere un'opera nella lingua originale. Il lessico che usa lei é sicuramente molto piú vasto di altri libri fantasy che ho acquistato e letto fino addesso in inglese quindi non direi che per la comprensione serve un livello scolastico.

Ottimo, le illustrazioni di Jim Kay sono eccelse, sicuramente l’edizione illustrata più integra per mole e qualità. Per quanto riguarda il libro...già si sa. Se non avete letto Harry Potter- shame. Se lo avete letto e siete degli insoddisfatti muggles, questo libro può tenervi compagnia. Per quanto riguarda il prezzo, considerata la qualità del prodotto lo devo definire ottimo, anzi quasi svalutato. L’intera opera, per ora i primi quattro libri della saga ha un costo esuberante ma sicuramente giustificabile se siete potter- maniac...e poi basta aggiungere la maledizione Gemini al vostro portafoglio! Ho comprato tutti e quattro i volumi e tutti al pari da considerarsi un ottimo acquisto.

You all know well what Harry Potter is about: dream, happiness and love can be stronger then death and fear and whatever bad can happen to you. Love can save you, love can make you smile in the thoughest days.
This first chapter of the story, retold by Jim Kay with stunning and magnificient illustration, is like the first step on a stairway to heaven, something everyone need to read and admire in this dark days of blind adulthood made out of war and politics and rough justice without pity. Every page, every detail is so overwhelming you will ask yourself where Jim Kay took inspiration, and everything painted on the paper will fit your mental picture of the Hogwarts world - maybe it will push your imagination at its finest.
The product is high-quality, no mistake or anything out of tune: the celebration of your innocence and joy and love will be a feastful symphonic concert.

comprato insieme al secondo, credo che entrambi siano un must have per i fan di Harry Potter. Le illustrazioni sono bellissime, si possono perdere ore per osservarle e notare l'infinità di dettagli presenti. Unico difetto, che in realtà non lo è per niente: avrei voluto molte più immagini, sopratutto delle mie scene preferite ma non si può avere tutto dalla vita, in ogni caso sono pienamente soddisfatta. L'inglese è semplicissimo, sopratutto se si conoscono già i libri...ad ogni modo è una perfetta occasione da non farsi perdere se si vuole abbattere il muro della traduzione e sentirsi un po' più vicini all'autrice.
spedizione: i libri erano entrambi in perfette condizioni, anche se solo uno dei due era ricoperto da una plastica protettiva, in ogni caso sono arrivati in tempo.

Illustrazioni bellissime, devi veri capolavori di Jim Kay. Carta e rilegatura di qualità. Libro forse poco maneggevole per le sue dimensioni, ma con un po' di attenzione si riesce a leggere bene. Il prezzo è ottimo rispetto alla qualità di pregio del libro.

I love Harry potter and these books are amazing for anyone who is a fan as they're great to have in a collection. The book is so heavy and illustrations make it new and interesting. Something I bought thinking it will be great for if I have children to pass on. I hope I can get the whole collection when the illustrator is done with them. Totally worth the money, so pleased with my purchase.

This is a really lovely edition from the Harry Potter series. My 5 year old was forever asking me questions about Harry Potter but I didn’t want to sit her down in front of the film- it’s a bit scary - and I’d really wanted her to read/ listen to the book. It was so long since I’d read it, I was struggling to answer her questions. It would be impossible to get a 5 year old to sit through a picture-less novel - certainly mine wouldn’t!! I’m so glad I found this illustrated version. The pictures keep her interested and help her imagination. We’re only on Chapter 5 so far, but we’re both excited to keep coming back to it. We do a recap of every chapter after we finish it and when we sit down to the book anew. She’s loving it and I’m really enjoying re-reading it all these years later. Highly recommend.

I've been a Harry Potter fan since I was ten years old. I have to admit that I am now thirty-two, I have a big beard, I've played drums in multiple heavy metal bands and I now have three children. So to paint a picture, I'm a bit of a hefty bearded metaller with little mini-me's causing havoc wherever we go but one thing will always stick with me and that is Harry Potter.

It's such an escape. I have the books wherever I am. On my Kindle or on audible. The films I am exactly the same with, I've got then in Google play from the digital codes and also on Amazon Prime. I love the books and I listen/read them about two or three times a year.

The illustrated versions are absolutely next level. There's the fantastic story by JK Rowling that we all so love but accompanied by these illustrations from this wonderful artist and they are beautiful. To elevate them even more is this digital version of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone where the illustrations are animated. An amazing achievement especially as it coincides with the magical concept in the books of moving images.

I highly recommend this book and I am still waiting on a digital copy of the illustrated versions of the rest of them (even though I have them all in hardback). As soon as they are released I am on them like a fly on... Well... You get the idea.

Every time we went to the library or went to a book store and saw this book, it was so beautiful that my daughters would always stop to look at it, so recently I bought this for my harry potter mad youngest's birthday. It is a gorgeous book- the unabridged original story with detailed illustrations on every page. It's so magical being able to see the characters described in the book really come alive, and in my youngest's opinion, every illustration looks "right" for their descriptions in the book. The illustrations sometimes span one page, two pages, or are just interwoven with the text seamlessly to make for a great reading experience. Since the pages are much bigger and words larger than a traditional novel, it also makes it less daunting and more readable for younger, perhaps more reluctant readers as well. Having read the original un-illustrated version, re-reading this again with the illustrations gives a whole new feeling to the story. Whether your a long-term fan, or new one, this is a great must-buy, definitely worth every penny in comparison to the non-illustrated version.

I debated with myself for a long time over whether I 'needed' this - after all I already own the original book and the printed illustrated book so why did I need this as well?

Well I caved... and I'm glad I did! It won't work on my Kindle Paperwhite which is a shame, but it works nicely on the Kindle App on my Tablet & Phone. It really is extra magical to read when the beautiful illustrations unexpectedly move. The movement is often subtle so you almost doubt you've seen it move & have to look again.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan & love that extra ways of making the books more magical keep being developed. I'm looking forward to the next books in this format.
