You heard nothing happened on December 21, 2012, right?

Not exactly. Here’s where the cosmic shift began:

As election year 2008 unfolds, Tess Vaughn’s deepest desire is to give up romance and live a quiet life in rural Arizona. But when the former investigative journalist jogs into the arms of married presidential candidate Senator Harris Cantrell Henry, she finds trouble galore.

Not only does Henry tell her things she doesn’t want to hear about abuses of the National Investigative Homeland Security Agency (NIHSA) and his political nemesis, Senator C. Clelland Collins, he babbles gibberish about doubles, ETs, and UFOs.

Tess finds herself pregnant when she calls an end to the trysts. Her daughter Mikka’s paternity and precocious talents are secrets Tess knows she must keep. But her secrets aren’t safe when Senator Harris Henry becomes the 44th President of the United States.

On 11.11.2011, the hyped pre-2012 window of positive opportunity, President Henry announces his intention to engage the United States in the international fight against global warming. But his deepest desire to provide full disclosure of his contact with extraterrestrials remains an uneasy secret.

When President Henry disappears, Tess’s fears for Mikka’s safety mount. She enlists the assistance of two upbeat New Age ministers, Marshall and Savannah Updike. Their greatest desire is to witness the triumph of good over evil in 2012. The couple challenges Tess’s common sense with their discovery of a Bible Code prophecy about an enigmatic “Starchild” whose fate is linked with President Henry. And the Updikes insist that meeting another handsome hunk is Tess’s best hope for Mikka’s survival.

Carson Hodges’ one-pointed desire is to live in the moment and reach enlightenment. The Native American healer charms Tess with his lack of guile and manages to steer her one step ahead of trouble. That is, until Tess’s brother Paul Vaughn – whose only desire is to be loved – talks too much to the wrong people.

Will the Starchild fulfill her karmic desire as the clock races toward December 2012?

Los Angeles: Tootie-Do Press, 2014

Kate Robinson began writing bad poetry in Des Moines, Iowa and continued to hone her writing chops in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, New Mexico, Wales, and Kenya, which serves her well as chief wordwhacker at Starstone Lit Services near Los Angeles. She treasures the appearance of the extraordinary in ordinary daily life and tries always to dance with paradox and absurdity.

5.0 su 5 stelle Love Under Extraordinary Circumstances 26 novembre 2014
Di Nancy Owen Nelson - Pubblicato su

"Heart of Desire: 11.11.11 Redux" is not the type of book I would ordinarily pick up and read. However, author Kate Robinson draws me in immediately with the relationship between protagonist Tess Vaughn and her special Indigo child, Mikka. With her extraordinary powers, Mikka, love child by the disappeared (perhaps killed) President of the United States, Harris Cantrell Henry, is, for me, the figure which drives this novel.

While I am impressed with Robinson's imaginative creation of strange, lizard-like UFOs who are trying to take over the world and counter President Henry's efforts against global warming, I am most taken with the notions of the heart in this novel--Tess's love affair with Harris, the birth of her exceptional daughter, and the relationship between mother and daughter which evolves from this strange set of circumstances. When Tess becomes the object of a search by these evil forces, the reader understands that the purpose of the enemy might very well be to take Mikka for their own purposes; at this point the story intensifies, bringing Tess into the company of a medicine man healer, Carson Hodges. Here, too, a warm relationship develops which promises a future story.

Enjoy this book for its many offerings: the UFO plot, the complicated governmental intrigue, and most of all, the special relationship that develops between Tess and other characters in the book. I'm hoping for a sequel.

5.0 su 5 stelle Crazy and Believable! 20 febbraio 2015

ET's, conspiracy theory, untapped potential of the brain and the power of love: if you weren't a believer before, you just might become one by turning the pages of Heart of Desire. Kate Robinson's obvious experience of the Arizona desert and her knowledge of such far flung fields as Buddhism, politics, history and archeology impart a realism that sustains the fantasy. As you read the final page of the epilogue, you will ask yourself, "Did that happen?" "Could it?"

5.0 su 5 stelle Great writing and a good story. 2 settembre 2014

Most books on the subject of UFOs and extraterrestrials are unbelievable to me, but I see Heart of Desire 11.11.11 Redux as an alternate history and a different type of thriller. It’s tightly written with believable characters, fast-paced, and well-researched. It goes without saying that Kate Robinson is an accomplished writer. Be ready to read late into the night on this one.
Robinson’s scenes with missing time, bizarre implants, and other-worldly creatures are riveting. What makes this book really stand out from most of the ufo-ology out there is that she really tries to figure out what the “Watchers,” as President Harris Henry, her alternate history U.S president calls them, want with us. She comes up with an interesting theory, and the book is fresh and interesting throughout. I would highly recommend this read for the open-minded and the curious.
One need only view headlines and do some research to comprehend that the consequences in this novel are far beyond probable. My advice is to purchase the book and read it. You will probably soon be back here writing your own review praising this work.
