At last, a management book that I enjoyed reading!

Many books, though they have worthwhile content, are a challenge for me because they are "as dry as dust". They can contain too much theory and 'fluff'; but this one is full of practical and pragmatic advice based on the author's real life experiences. It also usefully quotes the experiences of other organizations - I hadn't expected to read about the Oakland Athletics baseball team in the chapter on KPIs but the example worked for me!
When I read management books, I generally make notes as I go along; so the author's habit of summarizing "Key takeaways" at the end of every chapter was a useful cross-check for me. This is a book that has given me good ideas and it is a book that I shall read more than once to make sure that I haven't missed anything.

Pamela did a wonderful job giving a detail manual of how to transform your business model into a resilient, innovative one in the 21st century with her 7 pillar business model in Heptagram. Not every CEO is able to share their own personal journey in the corporate world and enhance it to become a flexible, easy-to-guide to transform your business. The value that Pamela gives every reader is unique because you can use her Heptagram method in every, and any step, of your business journey, just like she did with her corporate experience.

I would recommend every entrepreneur to read Ayuso’s Heptagram method to have a simple guide on how to run their business (plus she gives the material that can help you set up everything) and would definitely encourage every business professor to add this in their student’s reader list to give a fun, refreshing perspective of the corporate business model journey through the eyes of Ayuso; I would’ve love to have had this book when I was studying business.

Pamela Ayuso provides a clear path for the reader to understand the different dynamics and drivers at play in running an organization as she presents the theory and concepts in the Heptagram method combined with her personal real-world experience in applying them in her company. Upon finishing the book, I was left with an immense sense of urgency to revisit various aspects of the companies I run.

I liked this book very much. I found it to be very explicit and easy to digest. I especially liked chapter 3 that talks about information systems because coincidentally at this time we will be implementing a new cloud based accounting system and the author guides the reader suggesting some important questions to ask before choosing software that really suits your needs. I highly recommend it!

Pamela Ayuso outlines in great detail the necessary pillars to have a successful and modern company. Through her experiences, I was able to obtain great insights into her triumphant company and gather ideas that would be helpful when creating my own. I believe, she is an outstanding author who is able to keep her audience hooked up with each chapter.

Definitely recommend this book.
