5.0 su 5 stelle Queen’s Funk & Dance Album 18 aprile 2017
Di Ahreeman X - Pubblicato su
Formato: Audio CD Acquisto verificato
On 1982 Queen has done something totally different than their norm (Operatic Rock, Classical Rock, Progressive Rock and Hard Rock) and they released a Funky Beat Album! Of course Queen had always experimented with other different genres (1950s Rock & Roll and Pop) but this was way out of their many routines! Many fans stated that Queen has sold out and many critics called the album a flop; however, to everyone’s surprise, the album had hit top of the charts in UK, USA and around the globe with 6 different single hit songs! Once again Queen had proved that they can do anything and play any genre; furthermore, end up being successful at it. They lined up the Gold and Platinum Trophy Records while the singles hit the roof on various countries’ Top Charts. Of course they threw a Hot Space Tour which was also successful.

Hot Space is a blend of Funk, Disco, Rhythm & Blues and Dance songs. The album is loaded with hits. The album was released on 1982, and then 1994. This album is superb in sound. The album is notable for loud bass of John Deacon because it is basically a Funk & Dance album. The complete album is upbeat, passionate and booty shaking, made for dance. In this album the band associated with various artists such as David Bowie.

The band performed in this manner:

Freddie Mercury: lead vocals, piano, synthesizers, synth bass, Organ
Brian May: lead guitar, rhythm guitar, keyboards, backing vocals
John Deacon: bass, rhythm guitar, keyboards, drums, backing vocals
Roger Taylor: drums, percussions, electronic drums, backing vocals, lead vocals on "Action This Day"

Each a Rock Master is what made this album great.

Hot Space is the funkiest that Queen ever got! Hot Space is made for dance. The album is notable for upbeat heavy electronic drums and loud bass dance beats. It is uplifting and full of action. It is different than most of Queen Albums but then again Queen had always experimented with different music styles and genres. This album is Hot and once you listen to it, the album will open its way in to your Space and that is why it is called Hot Space!
4.0 su 5 stelle One of the underrated Queen albums of their series 14 aprile 2014

Hot Space did not receive much support from fans in the United States. As a result, Queen stopped touring the States. One of the saddest outcomes of any record's release. Like any real artist, you have to push and pull yourself by trying new mediums and avenues to expand your expressive voice. If not for your fans, but for your own growth as an artist. If you're an artist, you know this. If you're not feeling that your work is growing with you, then your natural response is to try something new. Hot Space was Queen's attempt at something new. Unfortunately, many Americans did not climb on board with Queen for the adventure of Hot Space. Their loss, and a bit of a loss for Queen in record sales. Nonetheless, I still enjoy this album to this day in 2014. I hope you do, too.

5.0 su 5 stelle A great album 13 ottobre 2007

I bought this on cassette tape when it first came out. Yes, it is a very different sound from the "Classic" Queen everyone was use to but the lyrics and music are very good. I like how Queen re-invents themselves with this album. It was led by other songs like, Another One Bites the Dust, & Dragon Attack, these songs showed a preview of what was to come, Hot Space! The songs on this album are all catchy and sound great. I find myself sometimes singing several of these songs in my head. I know that I wore the tape out when I had it then and will do the same with the CD.

1 Staying Power - Great song. It is so dirty and kind of sexy at the same time. I love the horn arrangement.
2 Dancer
3 Back Chat
4 Body Language - I like how this song is laid out. Especially, the band break that just has the snapping of fingers. I can just picture "West Side Story."
5 Action This Day
6 Put Out the Fire - Chalk one up for Queen. This is a very blatant anti-gun song. I sure not one of the NRA's favs.
7 Life Is Real (Song for Lennon)- A very nice and lyrical tribute to my favorite Beatle.
8 Calling All Girls
9 Las Palabras de Amor (The Words of Love)
10 Cool Cat
11 Under Pressure - What can be said about this song that hasn't already been said! This is great song that is always being played on the local Classic Rock stations. It is also on the David Bowie CD - Best of Bowie.
I also like the cover art. It stands out and I know that is not something that one takes in account when buying a CD but I think is does look great.

Overall, I love this album. I consider it one of my "Classic Rock" albums to go along with my other Queen albums. It is a great buy and I think you will find yourself listening to it over and over again. If you like great 80s rock/dance music this is the album to get.

Bought it for a friend, she loved it. Played very well, and was original, like the seller said. She liked most of the songs, but, being not too big of a Queen fan, really only see Under Pressure as the best track on it.
