Joanna Penn is always bang up to date with tech, so if you’ve ever wondered about dictation, finding editorial services, marketing channels etc, it’s all in here. A great help in cutting through the overwhelming options, straight to what’s most useful and current.
There’s plenty about writing craft too – how to pep up factual material, focus, drafting and editing - and also stretch topics such as co-writing. And if you’re completely new to self-publishing, the opening chapters about mindset and audience will ease you into getting started productively.
Joanna also goes deep into the specifics of marketing non-fiction. I particularly love how this breaks down the different kinds of business and marketing models, so you get the kind of overview you’d normally wouldn’t have unless you were a publishing insider.

I have been looking for a book about writing non-fiction and this is it. The chapters cover coming up with an idea, how to identify a niche, personal motivations, publishing, and product creation, right through to marketing the finished product.
