I bought this for my nephew as he has a bright inquiring mind. It is an interesting and novel concept as the book runs like a graphic story with mini adventures which inspire the young reader to look at things under a low budget microscope or magnifier. He does have a cheap microscope but after he had it for a few days, he stopped using it because no-one knew how to help him find interesting things to look at. I believe this book and subsequent ones will fix that. As an adult, I enjoyed reading this myself, and was fascinated enough to consider getting a microscope, so I think this alone shows how good the book is. As an added bonus, there is a web support area which I checked out and discovered to be informative and friendly with videos and animations. I highly recommend the entire idea as well as the book and believe it to be a fantastic way of teaching young people about using a microscope and looking at the natural world we so often neglect. I do hope the series continues and I'm pleased to see there is already book 2 out, which I'm going to buy and send on to my nephew.
