Sinossi

Maggie and Caleb must tie up all the loose ends of their lives and make a way to be together completely on their own. With everything that happened with Bish and Maggie's father, she's almost reluctant to move on and move out. And now she must figure out all of this...stuff...with Haddock. But of course, nothing can stay simple for the Jacobsons. Enemies who were thought to be dissolved have decided to not go down so easily. And old flames come calling for more than just Maggie. Caleb is torn between leading his family and personal wants. Maggie is torn between Caleb and being the leader of their people. But neither will let what they need most to be pushed to the wayside. They are determined to make it all work, design a plan toward destiny, and make everything right again for themselves and their family.

And then there's a wedding...

I loved how this series was about two people finding each other and finding out who they are and what their destiny is within the world they live in. Independence was a perfect finale to Maggie and Caleb's journey.

One thing I loved about this book was having Caleb's POV! I admit it was jarring at first, but once I got used to his voice I loved seeing this world through his perspective. Caleb is a natural leader and he stepped up and took his place as leader of his family and his people.

Maggie and Caleb are home from reunification and planning their wedding, but an old enemy is not willing to let them live in peace. Marcus has on thing on his mind and that is revenge. He will stop at nothing at destroying Maggie by hurting the people she loves most in this world.

Maggie and Caleb are forced to take matters into their own hands as they fight to find a way to stop a mad man hell bent on destroying everything. Maggie and Caleb will learn that a sacrifice will need to be made and life must be taken in order to change destiny.

This is the last book in Ms. Crane's Significance series and I am sad to see it end!!!!

I loved not only this book, but the entire series. It was so easy to get caught up in all of the characters lives, they were lovable and enjoyable.

This book was exciting right up until the end because we all wanted to know how it was going to end.

I laughed and I cried while reading this book and all my emotions were justified.

I was so happy that everything worked out for Maggie and Caleb in the end, all that they have went through for them to not have a happy ending would have made me throw my kindle across the room.

The only thing that I did not like about the ending is that we didn't get an update on Kyle and Lynne, other than that a perfect ending to another perfect series by Ms. Crane.

This is one series that I would not have minded if it continued on for a couple of more books.

First off, I really enjoy Shelly Crane's books for a couple of reasons; she does not write detailed sex, her characters are fully fleshed out, the relationships between her characters are real and enjoyable, and she creates real problems not fake I'm hiding secrets from you problems. That being said, this is my favorite series by Shelly, although her Stealing Grace duo takes a close second.
**Contains Spoilers**
This book is the conclusion of Maggie and Caleb's story. As we have enjoyed the series, we have brought in Bish, Jen, Kyle, Lynne, and Fiona. I loved all of these characters. I will admit that while I loved the first person POV in the first 3 books in this one I wished that I could have walked with the other significants for a little while also. This book encompasses the wedding, starting college, defeating Marcus, and Maggie trying to figure out how to balance the human world with the Ace one. I thought it was very well done, but a little anti-climactic. For those that love Maggie and Caleb, it was so wonderful to get to enjoy their happy ending for a little while with them. I have to add that I thought Maggie was right to forgive Beck for being horrible but I think it was time to end that friendship; a true friend doesn't walk away being totally self-centered and then apologize and start doing the same thing all over again :/ ugh!
The book needed a little more editing, so if the occasional missed word, wrong word, etc bothers you, you might want to pass on this one.
I thought the book was beautiful and wonderful and I am so sad to see the Jacobsons go. I would love to see more books set in the Ace world *wink, wink* Ms. Crane :)

Overall: If you love a good romance without detailed sex, please please start this series and enjoy Shelly Crane's other books. This series will make you smile, laugh, cry, and rant. Ultimately, it will give you that warm fuzzy feeling that all good romances do and it will leave you smiling at the end of the day. Why didn't I give it 5 stars? The book needed more editing. Other than that, I loved it! Would I buy it again? Absolutely! Will I be reading more by this author? Most Definitely! Enjoy :)

So sad to see this series end! I'm going to miss all the characters! I will say I was a little disappointed with the last book. Where it didn't take long to read the first three at all, it took me days to finish this one. There just wasn't much action at all. I'm glad everything came together for Maggie and Caleb, but there was no mystery at all everything was predictable! I think another reviewer said it best "where was the magic?". The first three books Maggie is such a bad A with her magic and being the visionary. This book didn't show that much. A lot of it didn't make much sense either like what the F was up with Beck? That part just shocked me and I didn't feel it was necessary! Also they talk about trying to change the vision on the beach, but.....they go to the beach?? Seriously that kind of had me irritated! It was way to obvious! Also another thing that drove me nuts was the errors!! Those usually don't drive me so crazy, but it seemed this book had so many typo's and errors that it took away from the book! Also seeing as how they are making these into a production you would think the editing would be a bit better now!! I honestly felt like I was reading a .99cent book not almost 5.00!! All that being said I really do love this series and I love how Maggie and Caleb's story came to an end, but I just felt there could of been so much more. To me it just lacked the depth as the first three. I still recommend this to anybody who read the first three because obviously you want to see the conclusion to Maggie and Caleb's story!

*There are some slight spoilers in this review*

This was truly an amazing end to an even more amazing series. Ms. Crane has blown my mind with how great of an author she is, and I can't wait to read more from her. Independence picks up right where Defiance left off. This book was slightly different than the previous novels in that there is dual POV. We are treated to both Maggie and Caleb's point-of-view, and it is literally perfect. Dual POV is hard to pull off, and honestly, I wasn't sure how well it would work with this novel. However, have no fear because Ms. Crane manages to pull it off expertly. I loved being able to read from Caleb's viewpoint because it gave us an insight into what he goes through as a significant as well. We see how much he truly cares for Maggie and his family, and the great lengths he would go to in order for everyone to be happy and safe.

The characters were perfect and could not have been better written. Maggie has become a strong, confident woman that is not afraid to die for those she loves. She is willing to fight for everyone and stand up for what she believes is right. Honestly, one of my favorite moments in this book was when she finally stood up to Beck who treats her like a freak after finding out about Maggie. Caleb is seriously perfect. You couldn't ask for a better guy, and his character also grew over the course of this novel. I loved being able to see inside his world, and to read about his love for Maggie. The secondary characters were still heavily present. They definitely didn't fade into the background. I will truly miss all of them, and it was so tough to say goodbye. However, I'll definitely be seeing them again, as I'll be reading this entire series over and over.

This book had me laughing, and was full of witty, sarcastic comments. But, it was also filled with sweet moments between Maggie and Caleb, especially their wedding. I don't really count that as a spoiler because we all knew it was coming. The vows were seriously some of the sweetest things I have ever read in my life, and it just further lends to the fact that these characters are brilliantly written. The vows (as well as Maggie and Caleb's love) just seemed so real and true. Everything fit the characters exactly as how you would imagine. However, that's not to say there weren't some extremely tense moments! The book is still action packed, and the ending is heart-stopping. I was on the edge of my seat until the very end. The story wraps up nicely, and I loved that we were treated to what was going on in the future with the characters. It made the story feel complete and have an end. There was no cliff hangers or dangling story lines; everything concludes perfectly.

As you can tell from how often I used the word, the word that describes this book is perfect. Independence is a thrilling conclusion to a brilliant series. This is a must read for any fan of Shelly Crane and any fan of the Significance series. You won't be disappointed! Thank you Ms. Crane for writing such an amazing series that I will treasure forever. Happy reading :)
