L'autore

Brian Michael Bendis is an American comic book writer and former artist. He has won critical acclaim, including five Eisner Awards for both his creator-owned work and his work on various Marvel Comics books.[2]

Starting out with crime and noir comics, Bendis eventually moved to mainstream superhero work. With Bill Jemas and Mark Millar, Bendis was the primary architect of the Ultimate Marvel Universe, launching Ultimate Spider-Man in 2000, on which he continues as writer to the present day. He relaunched the Avengers franchise with New Avengers in 2004, and has also written the Marvel "event" storylines "Secret War" (2004), "House of M" (2005), "Secret Invasion" (2008), "Siege" (2010) and "Age of Ultron" (2013).

In addition to writing comics, he has also worked in television, video games and film, and taught writing at Portland State University. He will begin teaching at University of Oregon starting in Fall 2013, and his book Words for Pictures will be out in Spring 2014 from Random House

5.0 su 5 stelle A Comic Masterpiece 9 ottobre 2015
Di AKA Sully - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
Alias a.k.a Jessica Jones is by far my favorite comic. Famed writer Brian Michael Bendis gives us a more adult take into the Marvel World. Jessica Jones is a retired Superhero who runs a P.I business called Alias. Brian writes a believable character who struggles with life by giving us a smart, humorous and engaging heroine. I honestly could not put the comic down and spent a whole night reading them all. Each issue ends as you salivate for more. You inevitably get emotionally attached to Jessica as her character slowly evolves as the issues continue . Jessica Jones is written for adults and is heavy in smart dialogue. The story arcs are some of the best and creative concepts I've ever read for a comic book. Try to fit in a few issues before the November 20th release of the Netflix show Jessica Jones starring the talented Krysten Ritter

5.0 su 5 stelle Very good read 8 gennaio 2016
Di C. D. Varn - Pubblicato su Amazon.com

Most of the Max line was adolescent transgression that didn't really match the "mature" storytelling of Vertigo. Jessica Jones, however, is the exception. The down-on-her-luck ex-superhero is now a private investigator and in this volume, she keeps accidentally getting involved in the politics around the Avengers. Bendis' gift for dialogue is really a gem here, and the art gets the semi-noir feel of the book down. The darker take on superheroes here is not cynical, however, and the bleakness of Jessica Jones is paired with her own moral compass. She can't help but be heroic despite herself.

5.0 su 5 stelle Solid read 28 marzo 2016

This first book introduces Jessica Jones: an ex-Avenger turned private investigator who seems to live on the fringe of the Marvel universe.
Bendis does an amazing job of creating a character that is complex, interesting and more human than the average super hero. Jessica Jones in many ways is in awe of the fantastic world of heroes around her and feels she doesn't live to their standards even though we the reader can clearly see she is at least a good guy if not a hero. There's guest appearances by many of your favorite Marvel super heroes as Jessica goes from case to case.
Check out Alias and meet Jessica Jones for yourself. It is an experience to remember

5.0 su 5 stelle Great introduction to the original Alias run which the new Netflix show (AKA Jessica Jones) is based off! 23 settembre 2015
Di Kenneth Allan - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
This is a reprint of the original Alias run, which started Marvel's M-rated MAX imprint back in 2001. Alias follows Jessica Jones - former low-tier superhero in her life as a private detective. The series is gritty and realistic (at least by superhero comic standards) and brings you to a whole other part of the Marvel universe. Marvel Studios is basing their new Netflix show AKA Jessica Jones off of the entire run, although most of that show will probably be based off Volumes 2-4.

This volume is the first of four, and collects 9 issues which introduce Jessica and her life (spoilers: not so great) as a private detective. The two storylines here aren't anything special as far as the overarching plot goes, but the way in which Bendis writes not only Jones but the characters around her help you get a feel for why she's such an interesting and unique character, and one worth a TV show of her own. The writing is great, and the art style is unique and grounded, combining for an unforgettable series.

5.0 su 5 stelle A MUST-READ for comic lovers, badass woman and the men who love them!! 28 agosto 2016
Di Ronnie T. - Pubblicato su Amazon.com
Formato: Copertina flessibile Acquisto verificato
Alias Vol 1 (AKA Jessica Jones) is a classic. And a way to get a dose of THE ORIGINAL Jessica Jones in between Netflix seasons. I expected the storyline to pretty much follow the TV series but it's a whole other set of challenges, with totally intense story art and overlapping dialogue. Pretty complex. If you love the super-hero genre and especially if you are a badass woman, this is a MUST-READ!
