Once assembled, its also easy to adjust seat height & angle, then you're away. Riding it makes you realise the whole set-up is stable, and there's a solid feel to the action. The instructions on setting/using the display are not as clear as they might be, but will no doubt become clearer by trial & error in use. No doubt the distance, speed & rpm readouts give a good idea of your performance, but it seems that the energy-consumption ("cals") readout is pretty notional as it does not appear to change as you change the work actually done against different levels of resistance. This is quite a serious failing, as the amount of work done is ultimately a better guide than simple time and distance; given that the resistance is set in 8 discrete steps it should surely be easy enough to get the computer to apply an equivalent factor to calculate the energy-consumption at each level. So I give this 4/5 stars.

Pros:
- Doesn't take up too much floor space
- Plenty of seat height adjustment (I'm 5'11" and I'm not on the highest one
- Very quiet
- Comfortable enough
Cons:
- As others have said, a pain to build. But then pretty much any exercise bike you build will be
- I find when I'm cycling, my jeans brush against the axis (sorry if that is the wrong word) for the pedals, making an annoying noise. I either need to change out of them or tuck them in my socks
- Again,as others have said, the heart monitor doesn't seem to be reliable, but it makes little difference to me as it doesn't stop me exercising
Conclusion: definitely a good exercise bike for the price, and for someone (like me) who is just looking to cycle a bit every day without caring too much about how far/fast/efficient you are being etc.

I couldn't have put it together by myself. It took over an hour for me and my brother to assemble it.
The seat is more comfortable than I expected but it still could be better. I'd say after 30 minutes you'd want to add a pillow. I am not sure if it just me but the seat is a little loose as it is not clear on the instructions how to tighten it. But it doesnt affect the use of the machine.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR ME WAS THE NOISE. I live in a house with 2 other people and my room is upstairs and has wooden floors. It was really important that I found something which would not disturb other people in my house. THIS IS BRILLIANT!!! IT'S NOT LOUD, EVEN ON A WOODEN FLOOR AND I USED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS MORNING BEFORE WORK WHILST WATCHING TV WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
Before buying this one, I was almost going to buy another which was also on special offer. The selling points for me were these 3 factors....
1. Quiet
2. German brand (good quality/sturdy parts)as opposed to cheap/second-hand parts from China
3. 3 years warranty/guarantee
4. Batteries included (a little detail but one I appreciated)
If you are wondering whether this one or the L size is better - I am 5'6/7 and it suits me perfectly. The seat is adjustable and could suit someone taller also. This one takes up enough space as it is and very happy I didn't get a bigger one!
The only reason it did not get a 5 star is because...
1. the loose seat
2. time to assemble and the fact it takes realistically 2 people to put together (not something appreciated by a single female!)
3. Instruction manual which could have been better (my tip is to read all the steps first before starting so you are not having to go back a few steps half way through...)
Really hope this helps. I have been wanting to go to the gym for so long now but my job prevents me from doing so regularly. So I brought the gym to me. I am just sorry I didn't buy one sooner!

It has a small 'footprint' and is therefore good if you have limited room.. The flipside of this, is that, as some one who is 6'4", I did find that my knees were banging the handlebars. This is nothing to do with the height of the seat which is plenty high enough - it is more the horizontal distance between the seat and the handlebars. I have however got round this by using it without trainers (just using socks). By doing this the feet are that much further forward in the pedals as to make a difference. I am now able to use it without any problem. However, if you are much taller than 6' 4" this probably is not the machine for you.
