My wife and I have been following the let's do lunch plan for 7 months now. I have lost 84 lbs and my wife has lost 74 lbs. As stated in the book, you really do begin to crave the healthy foods you eat to combat the cravings for unhealthy foods. Truly a struggle free, habit changer.when you buy this book go ahead and buy a case of corn thins and maybe another copy of this book to loan out. The recipes we've tried from the book are great.

I bought the book, and have been hanging out on the Let's Do Lunch website for just over a month now, and I have lost 18 pounds! I still have a long way to go until I get to my weight loss goal, but I'm filled with hope and peace for the first time in a long, long time.

Like most overweight people, I have tried lots of different diets and exercise programs to lose the weight, but couldn't stick with anything for very long. I gave myself heel spurs when I tried jogging as an exercise method, I was too fat to run for any sort of distance. I worked up to 20 minutes at a time on a high intensity stair-climber, it was great for working up a sweat, but I didn't lose much weight. I've tried Jenny Craig (which worked for a little while, but was expensive, pounds came back), TOPS, Nutrisystem(a little cheaper, pounds came back), Atkins & other Low Carb plans (which worked for 30 pounds, but my cravings for breads and other no-nos drove me nuts, and the pounds came back). You see a pattern here?

Enter Roger Troy Wilson and his book, Let's Do Lunch. It sounded sort of gimmicky at first blush, but his story sounded a lot like my story, and but I hung out on the website ([...]) and lurked at the message boards, to see what real people thought of the plan. Hmm, I see some successful folks are still posting. I see some newbies are trying it out. I see the Author himself replying to posts and cheering on newer members, that is seriously cool. I see some folks who have had their health numbers (cholesterol, high bp, blood sugars) improve after trying out LDL. I look over the recipes, they look good, but different. Beans? Fresh fruits? Frozen smoothies? Big (I mean BIG) lunches? It is sort of like Low Carbing, no processed grains, no high fructose corn syrup, no breads, no pastas, no potatoes, no flour - but lots of foods are fair game. And I found out after about a month that all that wonderful fresh fruit just kills any cravings for sugar & candy, and those beans and veggies and popcorn and yummy filling soups (try the Pizza Soup recipe - trust me on this) really seem to knock out the cravings for breads and potatoes.

So let me recap: 1 month in, 18 pounds down, no cravings (none!), I eat until full for lunch, recipes that kick some serious tail (Pizza Soup!), a nice internet support group, why doesn't everyone eat this way? I'm hooked, my skeptical wife has started this diet with me, my kids don't run screaming when I ask them to try some new recipes, and I seriously am beginning to think that my prayers might be answered, that this might be what I've been looking for in my lifetime-long struggle with extra weight.

I hope that maybe anyone reading this decides to give it a try. Check out the website, hang out on the message boards, try a couple of recipes, then buy the book and see what it is really about.

I never thought it was so easy to lose weight. The more I ate the more I lost weight. I have lost 35 pounds and I have 35 more to go. It is recommended that you eat until full. You don't have to count points, calories or weigh food. Just make and eat all the LDL approved foods.

This is not a diet; it is a Way Of Eating (WOE) healthy. You don't eat diet food; you eat regular food that is healthy for you. You make the best choices in which you get the best tasting meal for the least amount of fat. Your big meal is at Lunch time. The book explains how it works.

The side effects of eating the Let's Do Lunch way is: Your clothes will become loose and fall off. You will have to buy smaller clothes. If you have heartburn (at least for me) it will disappear. Some people who are diabetics, have high blood pressure, or have other medical issues - this WOE will help get your number closer to normal. Plus, you will feel better.

Some people say they can't give up this or that. I was one of them, but after seeing my mom pass up fried food, potatoes and cakes, I gave it a try. I no longer want French fries. I prefer to eat beans and I even crave them.

For support there is a web site that you can get all the free help and support that you need. You can start a food journal to track your progress or you can search the recipes section for a new dish to try.

I have tried many programs and none have ever stuck around as long as Let's Do Lunch. I started a year ago and still going. This Works. I hope you found this helpful.

I had an older copy of this book and lost a ton of weight in 2006. I stayed eating the way the book advised and kept the weight off two years. Then the following years I started baking and eating the wrong things and put the weight back on.
I reordered Let's Do Lunch again since I was so successful the first time and had tried Weight Watchers in between without success. I wanted to see what changes were made in Rodger's updated version of Let's Do Lunch.
It is an easy reading book and a GREAT way to eat and loose weight! I am a volume eater so this way of eating was right up my alley.
They have an awesome support group on-line and a listing of delicious recipes. I am ready to get started and get this weight off for good!

I read a synopsis of this book in a woman's magazine back in April. I was intrigued and ordered a copy from Amazon for $8.00. In the time it took to receive the book, read it and decide to order a copy for my daughter, this particular edition with the blue cover was nearly sold out online and the remaining copies being sold ranged from $60 to $250! There is a new edition with a red cover now available for around $15. The "Let's Do Lunch" program involves eating protein and vegetables every day and also lots of fruit so if you're not a fruit lover it's probably not for you. I was on board right away because I love fruit and one of the allowable snacks is my all time favorite, popcorn. I've been eating this new way for three weeks, haven't felt deprived or hungry, and have been losing about 2 pounds a week. This is impressive for me because I DO NOT lose weight easily. "Let's Do Lunch" is a no brainer way of eating that doesn't require counting or weighing anything. The regime becomes automatic. The book also includes a chapter of easy to prepare recipes and the ones I've tried I've liked. As far as diets go - I've tried most of them. I'm excited about this one because it's working for me, it's simple and can be a permament way of eating to control my weight. I would gladly give "Let's Do Lunch" 10 stars if I could.
